Bastian Schweinsteiger arrived in Chicago to a hero's welcome as fans flocked to greet the Germany World Cup winner.
The midfielder announced last week that he would be leaving Manchester United to join Chicago Fire on a one-year deal and, in the process, become one of the highest-paid players in Major League Soccer.

Huge crowds gathered at Chicago airport to welcome Schweinsteiger to the United States and the 32-year-old showed his appreciation by stopping to sign autographs and pose for photographs.
Schweinsteiger, who has the option of a second year with the Fire, made just four appearances for United this season following the arrival of Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
The former Bayern Munich man was deemed surplus to requirements by Mourinho last summer and was forced to train away from the first-team squad until December, leading to speculation that the pair had fallen out.
