If you've read the sidebar and some of the books recommended there, I'm sure you know the idea that we can interpret reality in a way it benefits us. Being positive, believing you are the prize, abundance mentality, etc are relevant concepts to interpretation of reality.
I decided to create a set of principles/rules/perspectives. I'm going to call it religion. At the beginning, it is going to have one or two pages of statements. In some religions, people pray and repeat some holy statements. They constantly reshape their interpretation of reality. They repeat these statements alone or with other people, several times a day in various ways and forms. I'm going to do the same in this religion I'm creating for myself. I'm going to brainstorm and think about each one as if I'm praying. With enough practice, I'm going to truly believe these statements. Every part of my life is going to change with time. My judgements, decisions, attitude, self image, self worth, reason for living, reason for working hard are going to change for the better. I'm going to know myself with this religion. Majority of people who are not depressed have some kind of core or belief in their lives. If you take away everything from them, they have their belief to count on. For most people, it is religion, for some it is family, themselves or stoicsm or a combination of them. If you look at really successful people, you would notice that their beliefs tend to be very strong. Which is why I intend to make this religion my core.
I created several statements but I'm not done yet. I don't think I can make it fairly optimal by myself and I don't have to reinvent the wheel. I'm looking for beneficial subjective perspectives to adapt into my religion. Do you have any resource suggestions? Can you share some of your principles?
