Hey everyone, I'm new here and new to MGTOW as an actual adopter of the lifestyle (known about you guys for years but never participated due to being a 1%-er in a "happy" marriage, I know, I know).
Lost everything financially due to nearly dying, and my wife left me a little less than 2 years later when she found out that taking care of a half cripple, actually having to work, and becoming low-class or low-middle class after being a 1%-er wasn't for her.
Anyway, I'm better now, went through a few months of successful surgery/rehab and now I'm 100% again and starting on a new journey.
Here's my thing, I am in the position to utilize some of the ideas and contacts I came up with while we were married in order to rebuild my fortune and then some.
I am worried about her being able to come back to me with a lawyer and say "He had these ideas while we were together, therefore half of their monetary value should be mine". She's not really the type to do that, but her parents are rich and cutthroat and totally the types to.
We're both Canadians living in Canada and recently I've heard tell of Canadian judges granting spousal support like this to even common-law marriages as many as 10 years after the separation. I can't seem to find any examples on Google, but this has me worried.
Should I seek legal counsel now before I pull the trigger on getting my business underway to try and protect myself from her greedy family? Is it worth it because this might all flop anyway? What do you think?
