What helps me is framing it differently... don't think... "I'm trans and I need HRT and transition to be happy, or find an alternative". Instead, realize that assigning trans identities to gender non-conforming people is a recent convention. In reality, it's the unhealthy alternative to what we feel, and shouldn't be the default. It's manufactured.

Recognize that there's no one way to be a man or a woman. Being a guy who prefers female friends, hates sports, has stereotypically female hobbies, and wears women's clothes sometimes doesn't mean I have a female identity. It just means I'm a different type of dude. There's a lot of inner strength that comes from seeing things that way. No one should have to take cross-sex hormones and get their body cut up in order to be happy. I refuse to believe it, and I've suffered with what we call gender dysphoria my whole life.

Enjoying your personality in the body you have. I know for some people it's not that simple, but many non-trans people struggle with their inner self and their body image; that's not trans-exclusive.
