Mourinho has to put something together to beat WBA, and the international break has killed the side with injuries. Herrera, Pogba, Fellaini, Ibrahimovic, Smalling, Jones all expected to be out. What formation do you think he goes with? Who pairs Carrick in midfield?

What do you guys reckon?

Maybe Martial should play but keep one on the bench in case it's 0-0 and Lingard was really good last week so it would be unfair to drop him

Hopefully TFM gets a start over Rooney. I don't see the point in playing Rooney in CM over him when he won't be any better in that position and is probably gone in the summer anyway.

It's one thing to keep TFM benched when the likes of Herrera and co are available but to do it when they're all unavailable and play Rooney instead is another completely. Rooney is almost always poor in midfield.

He wasn't given a chance even then so whats your point? If he's so bad, he shouldn't even be in the squad in these 'tough games'.

The fact is, he is in squad and he's regularly on the bench. That means he's been determined as playable. If he's not there to fill in at these exact predicaments, then what do you think he's there for? To bolster Dutch/Ghanaian shirt sales?

Simple fact, if you don't try them out, you just don't know.

TFM hasn't been given a fair whack yet.

I agree. Plus, a midfield with Rooney and Carrick severely lacks in physicality. Pogba or Fellaini has played every game this season.

I'm okay with three, I think the reason why we don't look as good is because our clutch players haven't played but all the attacking midfielders in the side look so good in the system and I think it could work long term giving Pogba the basis to be creative and Griezmann a place to play if he joins.

Idk if we are going to play 3 atb we really need ball playing CBs because otherwise we play way too deep especially with just 2 in midfield expected to bring the ball forward. Even with 4 at the back I would much rather Pogba be playing higher up the pitch with someone feeding him the ball (cue Weigl) but with 3 CBs the problem only gets exacerbated.
