RANTAnyone find most children really annoying? (self.childfree)

I have met a few which were alright but it's rare, most kids really irritate and annoy me. I don't see many happy parents around even though they say having kids is the best thing in the world most parents shout and scream at their kids and I wonder if they regret having them.

Yes. If they're quiet and unusually mature I don't feel annoyed. But generally I hate their repetitive noises (both happy and upset), shrillness, if they're really young I find them gross (sweaty leaky toddlers, ugh! Why are they always moist???). Annoying is definitely the word for it.

Well behaved children don't bother me. I don't mind seeing my cousins' kids at the holidays. They're getting a little older now (8-13) and I enjoy talking to them about school, their sports, their friends etc. I have always found infants and toddlers highly irritating though. I don't like their ear-splitting shrieking or the way they smell.

All children, regardless of how well behaved they are, are extremely annoying. They're stupid, spread germs, and have annoying high pitched voices and i just want to make them fucking shut the fuck up.

Even if they are calm and behaved they could be annoying. The ones that are getting close to you - and staying there- because they like (?!) you.

I completely agree - especially children eager to communicate are a bloody nuisance. All the "interesting things" they need to share.

Does remind me of fake-ordering food just to make some little human happy... Last time that happened it was on a little sightseeing ship with no alcohol and nowhere to go.

Oh, that might have translated/come across wrong - I meant one child running around annoying others by trying to imitate the waiter and making everybody order something. But of course you had to order what the little one approved of. "No thank you" wasn't on the approved list.

Besides some annoyed faces (primarily mine) and a paper scribbled full of nonsense nothing happened.

In general, yeah kids are really annoying. I simply just don't like most of them, they're just annoying. But I tend to like my friends/ relatives kids- in small doses

Yup. Even as a kid, I found other kids annoying. I was the shy, quiet type who sat on her ass reading a book or drawing instead of running around screaming like an idiot.

Because the weather is getting better a lot of kids on my road are playing out at the moment. One of their favourite play areas at the moment is the alley next to my house. The alley ends at the bottom of my low fenced garden. They like to stand at the bottom and play there too.

They aren't doing anything wrong but hearing all that shrieking and the noise from the scooters is really annoying. On the whole I don't mind quiet children or well behaved ones, sadly a lot of them aren't like that.

Same here. I know two kids that I like and who are nice and quiet and relaxed enough most of the time. I'm always compassionate when they are loud because it's genuine. But most kids annoy me in an instant simply because they are too everything, too loud, too intense, too whiny etc. And they don't even need to be especially bratty, just kids.

I really hate when kids just stare at you. Like da fuq? I know that they're kids and interested but it still just pisses me off.

I hate kids but if they are being quiet and well behaved it doesn't bother me but if they are shrieking and being incredibly loud yes. When I was a cashier I would visibly cringe every time a kid would scream or screech when going through my checkout lane. Thankfully that didn't happen very often.

I found small kids annoying even as a kid. If they are older than 8-9 (depending on maturity, my niece is 9 and sometimes she is exhausting) I can tolerate them. I do fine with most teens though.

Most irritate the hell out of me. There are exceptions that are less irritating, but as a whole I find kids irritating, boring, and tiresome.
