I mean clearly something happened here

A few dumbass students decided to block the door. Teacher came back and stood there while they laughed by themselves. Then they took them down while the teacher walked in, not giving them attention.

Usually how this stuff goes.

Its been a while since high school hasnt it

This actually seems like the most plausible explanation for this

No one barricades a door without the easy to achieve support from the room

i hope the teacher laughed. i'm a teacher and if my students did what the post is claiming i would have laughed my ass off.

If its true its even more cringeworthy.

A question getting 20 downvotes. Note to self: don't ask questions on Reddit.

How low did it get? It was at 0 last I checked

No joke, like 17 minutes after I posted the comment it was 34.

Because everyone in that class comes across as petulant and entitled? The guy has until May to prepare the class for the AP Exam and probably feels that they haven't covered the material enough to justify wasting a day of class by watching a film tangentially related to the course material.

Right. And so you think the students making a joke and doing this is cringe worthy? We had students in my high school screw around with teachers before and the teachers usually took in stride and joked around too.

Yeah there are always some kids that are incredibly entitled and whiny, I remember some kids in my class got angry because we had homework the week before christmas vacation, because apparently they thought they shouldn't have to do anything while at school.

How DARE students be friendly with the teacher and joke with him! CRINGE!!!! Reddit decided they're cringing and can't turn back.

this isn't /r/cringe though.

And it's very unclear what is supposed to have "not happened" here. That's the name of the sub.

"Hey teach, ya know what would make a funny picture on this day that we're not doing anything?"

Funny, at my school we would have barricaded the door if the teacher tried to make us watch Les Mis

In my experience kids will always want to watch a movie if it means not doing school stuff.

Unless the teacher is wants you to take notes.

You should is taked more notes, I think.

Why did they shout in Spanish when they were mad about not seeing a French film?

Because you don't have to be that smart to be in a AP class

But you do to get an A in the class or pass the National exam.

The A depends on the class. The exams are usually pretty thorough though.

My first AP class was AP world history. Got and A in the BS class, failed the exam.

Well it starts out French and then trails into Spanish. Frañol at work.

In Spanish it's incorrect, though. It should say viva not vive. What they said means "Live the revolution".

"Vive la revolución" translates to "The revolution lives" so it's not incorrect, it just has a slightly different meaning than cheering for revolution, instead asserting the revolution is still ongoing.

You're right, I didn't think of it that way. That's still a weird way to say it, though. "La revolución vive" would be better.

They haven't seen it yet

I mean, they are only off by one letter it really doesn't make a difference

To be fair, the 24601 joke was pretty clever

It's an actual joke? I don't understand it

It was Jean Valjeans prisoner number.

It was also Principal Skinner's prisoner number when he was a POW in Vietnam. Small world, isn't it?

Not really, as that was itself an homage to Les Miserables

In les Mis one of the main (the main) characters is in prison at the start with the number 24601, then that is incorporated into a song (in the musical, I assume there is no song in the book, but I have no direct observations to back that up), by the maniacally obsessed copper who wants throw him back in jail when he violates his parole

I've never read the book but now I am intrigued at a book that is 24601% musical numbers

I tried reading the book because it's my fave musical but the first part is about this random priest that it says has nothing to do with the plot and??? Also it's fucking huge

[–]chunder_everywhere 1 ポイント2 ポイント  (0子コメント)

I tried to read it once too and it was mind-numbingly boring, so I stopped

Except that it would sound better to just say "2460-done."

They want to watch a movie about France but scream the Spanish word for revolution?

Looks like a major violation of fire code.

Why do you think this is fake? It even has a picture of the guy being blocked in.

How can that picture be real when your eyes aren't even real

This is very much something that would happen in high school, I'm not really seeing why this is false especially with that picture

Because we can't break from the circlejerk. Ever.

This probably is true. This shit happens in high school all the time, especially if you had a decently cool teacher you could mess with like this. I know I had a few throughout the years who we would really mess with all in good fun

How the hell has this not happened? It even has a picture and the context isn't farfetched at all.

We will take Jerusalem!

American here. Is "euro" a European history class?

It's European History, it's a common US course. Often taken as an advanced placement course.

I see. Thank you for the info. I wish I could've taken this course, but sadly history classes were pretty lacking at my school.

Actually in this context it's talking about the sandwhich, it's just spelled wrong. AP Gyro

European here. I was going to ask what AP Euro meant. I've heard "AP" before from Americans but I don't know what it means.

AP means "Advanced Placement". It's a faster-paced, more in-depth class for high schoolers that gives college credit they can transfer. Typically revolves around the core subjects.

This is definitely something you'd see at a school in a slightly higher income area. The kind where the students and teachers are really friendly with each other and can pull little pranks.

What is AP Euro?

I just don't understand the appeal of this subreddit

mildly implausible, but still totally plausible things, just constantly being "called out" as "totally not true, no way".

Who. Cares?

Who fucking cares if it's totally real or not? Why do you have to gather and jack each other off about it? It's such a bizarre thing to concern yourself with, who cares?!

Way to jack yourself off Mr. Superiority complex.
