FFX is the greatest game I've ever played. I fucking hated doing those cloisters of trials, but oh well, the story is just too good. Gives me chills every time I watch this and hear Yuna say (whisper) or dreams that have faded.. Never forget them. So fucking good

Best game I ever played as a kid. This was my first RPG and god I miss those times. I used to bring the strategy guide to school and me and my friends used to look through the bestiary and pictures. I wish I could go back in time and relive those moments.

I remember my friend and I took months to beat this together as teenagers, and when we watched the ending together we bawled our eyes out and had to hug each other the entire time. And my goodness, I still cry from watching this

Yuna's "I love you" is so much more impactful and emotional then jp versions Thank you.
After everything Tidus did, those words were probably made everything worth it for him.

I beat this game when i was 11. Im 24 now and I must say I havent seen a video game story quite like this. Fucking bravo! Still makes me tear up. Amazing visuals and amazing characters

I cannot even imagine how painful that must've been for Yuna, Tidus was her first true love! When I first cleared the game,the scene where Yuna is whistling in my opinion is the saddest part of the ending, that's when I truly suffered! I really think that Yuna is the most tragic FF heroine, even though im not so sure, is there a more tragic FF heroine in any of the other games ?

Of course Aeris's death is one of the most shocking moments in video game history, and it can be even compared to the death of Gwen Stacy in the Spider Man comics. So technically Aeris goes first place in the list of most tragic FF heroines and Yuna second, but what I truly was asking was if there is a more tragic FF heroine who doesn't die. Is there ?

+Alejandro Márquez Final Fantasy series tend to have a happy ending. Even think that the X one is the only one where this rule is not applying, so yeah, I agree with you, Yuna is the most, and only, tragic heroine in the FF series. And I agree on the whistling part too ! >,<

After ff10 the whole ff franchise went downhill and has NEVER been the same again. FF 1-10 are the BEST and are the greatest ones we'll ever have (not including spin-offs). But that's just my opinion....

Oh my gosh, at 3:04, Yuna says "I love you.", but in the Japanese version, she just says "Thank you (Arigatou)." This linguistic difference makes me even more moved!!

The saddest part for me was when Yuna fell right through Tidus as she tried to keep him from leaving. That expression she had while lying on the ground was just heartbreaking.

I've watched so many movies, all genres you could imagine, death, horror, love, sadness, sci-fi, happiness, etc. but this game is, by far, the thing that touched me most. There won't ever be a better story becaus this is the best story that could have ever been made! (Of course the music by the great componist Nobuo Uematsu also took its part) PS: I've never cried before due to a fictional scene...

Uematsu only composed around half of the OST, and even for many of his tracks, Hamauzu helped him out.
Also, FF 10 has a good story, but I like the ones from Nier, Valkyria Chronicles or Xenosaga much more.

I keep hearing rumors of a possible Ffx-3, I really hope it involves Jecht, Braska and Aurons journey to defeating Sin and seeing how Jecht became the next Sin. I would honestly think it would be a pretty kick ass game.

Just beat the HD Remaster version. First time I've done a full playthrough since I first beat it over 7 years ago. Still moves me more than probably any game out there. Not ready to say goodbye yet.

So a friend told me to get the FF X HD Remaster as i wanted to play new games, and so i did, here are my thoughts on it so far
Okay, i just got to and failed my first Blitzball thing against the Goers, but this game is very "EH" so far, like, i genuinely do not know if i could continue playing it, but not out of difficulty, out of boredom XD Like i love the characters, the story so far, the settings, all the design, the music is fucking beautiful, those certain cutscenes with ALL the detail, like, i genuinely do like all of that!
But i have 3 huge downfalls right now, and all of them just lead to it being boring as fuck, firstly Blitzball, i dunno if that one was supposed to be extra tough, but that game seems entirely luck based, i have no idea how you're supposed to win it, but just watching some people swim around in a sphere for 10 minutes, really fucking boring!
The fighting, i really, REALLY do hate turn based battle systems, but this game, i was literally sitting there yesterday completely drugged up on pills, exhausted as fuck, barely awake, just trying to get to the next save point, and i still did just the same with the battles as i was when I'm awake! You just gotta press "x" 2 times to win, boom, done, there's no engagement or anything!
Then lastly, i know i will soon, but the total and utter lack of choice so far, I'm fine with the game controlling you for a bit, but I'm just REALLY bored of the game telling me where to go and having nothing to do about it now, i just want to explore!
Also, i think these are just two personal issues, but i literally ended up smiling yesterday due to all the shit the game is throwing at you, like, in the span of however long it is, the game has taught me fighting, the sphere grid thing (That i still do not understand), Blitzball, and so many things, and they're all so detailed and specific, that yes, never gonna remember it, no idea what I'm doing!
Also just switching out and levelling characters, i feel like i may be picking up more but I'm already fucked XD I just feel like there's no need for half of them, Tidus can do decent hits on stuff, Waka can hit the flying enemies, and Lulu can do the elementals, i love Yuna, not keen on the cat dude, but there's just no need for them, and if i switch them in, especially Yuna, they basically can do nothing, and especially nothing the other three can't do, so they just drag the party down!
I guess what i want from this game is engagement, as yeah, so far i just feel like someone who is sitting outside the game, spectating it and basically doing nothing, no control over where i go, there's no engagement in the battles, blitzball which i already really do not like, also yeah, some things have WAY too much detail, other things have no where near enough!
By the way, can you see weapon/armour stats? As it's just, i got a sword from an enemy, 2 of my other characters have new weapons, and all of them have new armour pieces, but i haven't swapped any of it out yet as yeah, i have no idea if it's better than the stuff i have or not haha

In retrospect, It almost seems like Squaresoft were saying goodbye to the entire series with that last line. Christ, its a beautiful capstone and even though it may not be intentional I like to read it as such. The series became a franchise and lost an "its intangible je ne said quos" after this. A lot of programmers left the company and moved on to places like Monolith and Mistwalker, that's where the legacy is IMO

I have came here to share the dream i had, last night. Good morning!
- I cannot remember when it started, all i know is that i was in the FFX universe. But things got strange, we were heading towards a battle, there was aragorn and even that elf guy, the battle was being fought by dwarves and giants, it was REALLY an show, you could see dwarves flying, magic everywere, i could even feel that strong mixture of fear of dying, and the thrill of killing... I remember i wasn't in the dream, i was follwing the characters, then i went to Aragorn, he was fighting a guy with some weird teeth, they were fighting in a building, destroyed. Altough Aragorn is a great swordsman, he was beign overtaken by the guy, they were near some no-stairs hole, from this hole, you could see other corridors that leads to inner parts of the building. when Aragorn was almost being killed, the elf came and hit the guy, on top of Aragorn, wich he fell down in the hole. Later it was revealed that there was little monsters inside that building, much like the Diabretes from Harry Potter 2. Then it suddenly got back to the war, a giant made a Big Wave of cottage cheese, and it engulfed almost all dwarves, but they recovered, and proceed to stick swords and spears on the Giant, eventually killing him altough he was one of the last, almost all dwarves were killed too. It was over, the war. We could see Yuna saying stuff about how hard it was... Etc, but we were in Dream Zanarkand, and all the characters, except for Lulu and Wakka. And it was beautiful, Tidus and Auron left their bodies in a attempt to talk a little bit, before the "End", i knew that the "End" was approahing, and that cold sensation we feel on our stomachs, was building up. They went to talk beneath a passage but it was strange, it suddenly turned out to be a "picnic", with those bottles of auron stacked in mid air. Then Rikku came, and it was over. Next i see Tidus doing some strange stuff with Rikku, he was behind her, similar to the Doggy style position, but they were wearing clothes. Then i saw Cloud running behind him, and he challanged everyone. He was in his FF AC Clothes.However, nothing happened. Then i was above that small passageway, wich they were located, and i could see it was Auron's turn to fade away, but it was strange, he had two bodies, one was downed in the corner and the other proceeding to be sent... Then i woke up.

I loved 7. 9 was ok. 10... I never finished... If I did I forgot... I remember Football. but nothing else. Charters come back.... but 10; and 8 (never played) killed it. 9 was the start of death... 10. Square Soft to Square Xinx? the shift made the kill.

but I gotta agree they decided to use 'I love you' instead of 'arrigatou'. Yuna's face... well really perfect to declaring a love, I guess...
and I gotta feel sorry with her in x-2, especially her appearance.

Final Fantasy X would make an awesome live action movie. The story would be good, and I'm sure a guy like James Cameron could make some avatar like graphics and make this amazing. FFX and Ocarina of Time are my two favorite games ever. Funny, that too would be a pretty sweet movie.....

Kind of wish they made a prequel to this game. Would be awesome to play as Jecht, Auron and Braska. The universe of FFX is one of my favorites in the series, along with 12 and 6.

But, ffx-2 give us a perfect ending :) (when you reach 100%) Tidus and Yuna stand on the spot in zanarkand where tidus began to tell his story and he promised Yuna that he never go away or something like that is ...Wow you cant put it in words ^^

Oh yeah I definitely love how they ruined what was a perfect ending to their story. Ever heard of Romeo and Juliet? Did they come back in a sequel and be like "Oh yeah we're totally okay now we can be together"? No that didn't happen and FFX-2 shouldn't have happened frankly. It didn't have to be a stupid "And they lived happily ever after" ending, it was tragic but heartfelt and hopeful and it was perfect.
Of course if they were gonna make a sequel I would've loved seeing the telling of Braska, Jecht, and Auron's journey. That part in FFX when Auron talks about Jecht getting drunk and cutting up a shoopuff was hilarious. I just imagine an amazing road trip story. But of course instead we get a tacked on continuation of what should've been a good story with a perfect ending

In my own perspective, X-2's tone is just too garish and goofy to belong in the same time-line as X, so I simply pretend that X is the whole shebang. I feel the same way about Chrono Trigger and that game's dreary follow-up (in which all of the main characters from the first game get killed off off-screen and the quest from the first game gets invalidated).

FFX-2 was the last Square game since then final fantasy games have been garbage while Dragon quest games are for the most part still good.
Square and enix development teams are still seperate
The problem is alot of the old Square talent have either moved up to management and have little to do with the games anymore or they simply left the company and formed new studios like Monolith,AlphaDream,Mistwalker ETC.

I always liked their brother-like relationship; in some scenes in the background if -i recall correctly you can see them horsing around such as waka grabbing tidus in a head-lock or pretending to punch each other; very Japanese-cheesiness going on but i like it and think we need more of it lol..

Hopefully tetsuya nomura's FF15 will have the impact X and VII had being his last FFgame that is. Sadly XIII didn't seem to cut it with a lot of fans, X like VII had everything: the sense of adventure, very likable characters, and music that will move you to tears; also the main song was in Japanese that made it more exotic and felt you were in a different world. They (Square-enix) should stop giving us "Translated" or English songs in FF (X-2, XIII, XIII-2)/KH(1-3)/Japanese games...

However, thats what makes this such a good end, sometimes tragic ends where the hero ends up bad aare alone is the perfect end. even if it tear out your heart.

Many of us, however, really wanted to see Yuna and Tidus remain together after all they (and us players) went through. I don't know if I can really explain this reaction I have to a fictional character, but someone like Yuna just doesn't deserve to have her heart broken like that.

If you manage to get 100% complete (every optional mission, sphere, and dream sequence) in X-2, you get the ending where Tidus is returned to reality, and reunited with Yuna for good. It's a pain to do, but you finally get the ending that Yuna (and us fans) so desperately deserves.

Don't worry, even as an adult, this game is every bit as much the wonderful gem you remember from your childhood. I've replayed it over a dozen times since its release, just because it is such a great game and powerful story. Even after all these years, the ending *still* leaves me in tears.

i had just moved to a new place at the beginning of summer when i was 14 and my parents bought me this game because i didn't have anyone to play with.
i don't think i've ever been so emotionally invested in a video game's characters or world. i absolutely loved it. i used to dream about this game. :O

I literally just finished this game after years of already loving it. What was the first thing I do? Come and watch the most beautiful ending ever made to any story for a second, third, and fourth time. And each time, I just fall into a puddle on the floor. This is one of the most remarkable and beautiful video games I've ever played. Thank you, Square Enix for making it.

It's been more than 10 years since I finished this and it's still the most powerful memory I have of a video game. It's the only time I've ever sat and watched the credits because I just didn't want to turn it off. I think I sat there just taking it all in until about 10 minutes after The End screen had came up. I'll remember this when I'm 80.

This game had a phenomenal ending, sometimes tragic endings can be just as good if not better than happy endings. As far as I'm concerned the final fantasy franchise died after this too, so it really is a bittersweet ending.

I was NEVER into Final Fantasy (at all... I kind of hated it), and then one day my brother told me to come in his room to watch the ending of X. I didn't really want to, but I did anyway. Instant captivation. I even cried a bit, and I had NO IDEA what was even going on in the game. I decided I NEEDED to see everything else, so I convinced him to play it through again so I could watch. I fell in LOVE, and made everyone I could play it.

Wonderful comment, really captured what made this ending so memorable and a instant classic. Remember this being the first game that showed me games could be emotional, moving works of art just like books and movies. Think games like Bioshock and Journey our carrying the touch that FF helped start.

Turn based RPG's. Back when I was in the fifth grade, they were my most hated video game genre of all time. I still have a distaste for them today. Yet somehow I beat this game. I don't remember anything about it. I just remember being 12 years old, and being inspired enough to beat this game. It's weird, because it was only 5 years ago, but I don't remember ANYTHING. I remember waking up on the beach, playing blitz ball, but other than that, not much else. Magical experience.

As touching as this scene is, I feel it's somewhat spoiled for me by my dislike of the Tidus character.
Yuna I like, after all her's was the far more compelling story and she was a far more interesting character. And for her sake I can appreciate this scene because it means that a character I like is becoming heartbroken.
