    Looking at your post history, you're not telling the whole picture.

    Although not everyone if being super polite in that argument, you're the main one in that walking dead subreddit who is throwing insults, you're the one bringing race into everything seemingly judging the characters based on their race, and you're the one who is throwing around the word 'white' as an insult to the other users. Also, no-one was talking about misogyny or woman hating until you brought it up.

    This is definitely not a case of people descending on you just for being a feminist.

    Most of the more popular subreddits have a lot of internalized misogyny. I even see a lot of responses in this subreddit that question feminism or are antithetical to feminist issues.

    My reddit experience was vastly improved when I unsubbed from all the default subreddits and narrowed down my experience with more specific subs.

    If you're looking for more inclusive communities to discuss social issues, you can find a lot of great stuff:

    /r/socialism

    /r/LateStageCapitalism

    That definitely sounds stressful. Just remember that Reddit is overwhelmingly made up of young white American men, and it's users, just like anybody else, they generally respond poorly to being called out on their shit.

    Reddit is definitely not a feminist space, and I've noticed that masculine traits mean you get more upvotes. Confidence bordering on cockiness (so long as you don't use the word "actually"), "logical" arguments, linking evidence for claims, and joking about femininity seem to be the norm. I've had to defend the definition of feminism more times than I care to, for sure.

    The thing is, Reddit will always be a reflection of its users, but ultimately, its content is curated by you. Find subreddits you enjoy, exclude MRA subs & mains from r/all if you like.

    Honestly, idk how to deal with this, and I'm not super sure what you're looking for. Validation or commiseration or solutions? All I know is when somebody says Reddit is hostile to feminists, my first reaction is "No shit. What's new?"

    Specific examples? Examples are key in this sort of thing. It tends to look like you don't want to link an example, maybe because you're the instigator like one of the other comments says. (I wouldn't know I didn't go through your post history in great detail).

    PS: By examples I mean involving you specifically (IE not a random post from r/T_D)

      I hope that you can do that here. It is really sad and stressful. What a way to live, it's not even something that you just have to endure for a month or two, it goes on and on and on forever. Society is really screwed up - even when people know that what they're doing is wrong, they keep doing it (environmental destruction jumps to mind immediately: cutting down rainforests, overfishing) and then try to argue that it's not wrong (e.g sexism, racism).

      Yeah...I've given up on trying to have thoughtful conversations on reddit. I recently thought I was giving a respectful response to someone who was all upset because a feminist thread didn't care about his opinion...and I quickly got called bigoted and stupid.

      The misogyny being a terrible problem in some subs is a thing, I fully agree on that. However, this statement is a sure invitation for people to look through your entire posting history and provide you with posts ripped out of context to "prove" you triggered the problem you are mentioning.

      I mean, people are always going to jump on others for saying things on the internet, regardless of the context, if there is as much as a mention of problems related to social constructs. I have given up ever trying to win those fights and simply ignore people if they give the smallest inkling of wanting to trigger an aggression. That goes for both sides of these arguments.

      Not gonna lie, I'm only here because someone said this board was the worst. Honestly OPs statement seems very blow out of proportion. Especially when you can craft Reddit to what you want it to be.
