This seems fair to me, she may be a rapist, but thats what the prison sentence is for. To keep her in a male prison would be subjecting her to a much worse punishment then anyone on equivalent prison terms.

I know, I did read that article. But last time I checked, and bear in mind I'm not an expert, "rape victim" is not a qualification that gives a person insight into whether or not someone should be allowed to have gender reassignment.

It's basically like this. Gender Dysphoria is a condition. Hormone replacement, and in a lot of trans people, sex reassignment surgery, is the treatment. Rapist or not, that cunt should be entitled to the same healthcare as anyone else. Or what's the alternative?

Exactly. Gender dysphoria is a medical illness, where the cure is gender reassignment surgery. It's not just a vanity treatment that someone gets done on a whim, it's a medical treatment for an illness.

Would you say a criminal shouldn't get surgery for, say, a broken leg because of the crimes they've committed? No. Then why should different rules apply to people with gender dysphoria?

I think comments like those in the article show the fundamental misunderstandings people have about transgenderism.

Socialisation is pretty important for mental health. So it's not the best idea when prisons are supposed to be for rehabilitation.
