President Trump’s approval ratings have hit a new low of 37% in the recent Gallup poll, continuing the downward trend of record lows that has so-far plagued his presidency.
Trump previously mocked President Obama’s 39% approval rating about 2.5 years into his first term. Trump’s numbers have now fallen two points lower than that figure after only 8 weeks in office.
@BarackObama has a record low 39% Gallup approval rating. Why so high?

Trump’s numbers began at historic lows even from the start. He had an approval rating of 45% on his inauguration, but after a typically Trumpian scandal-filled first two months, filled with all caps “FAKE NEWS” accusations, misspelled and baseless wire “tapp” claims, growing suspicion of Russian collusion during the 2016 election, a healthcare bill which punishes his own voters, the forced resignation of Michael Flynn, and his 2018 budget which robs programs like Meals on Wheels to finance more military actions (to name but a few), the numbers have steadily fallen.
Even the right-leaning Fox News polls showed an incredible 5 point drop, going from 48% approval in February to 43% last Wednesday.
Trump’s general reaction to his low approval numbers, as is his reaction to any data that casts him in an unfavorable light, is to suggest that they are somehow fake or rigged.
The same people who did the phony election polls, and were so wrong, are now doing approval rating polls. They are rigged just like before.
