Nothing really groundbreaking here but a good friend of mine recently told me something that really struck a chord with me.
So for anyone out there who is struggling to let go of the one, I hope this helps. He said, "don't ever assume that they feel the same way about you as you feel about them"
At first glance, that sounds basic AF. But then I started thinking, this doesn't just apply to a breakup... this applies to all facets of a relationship. All those things you loved about her, all those times you had with her, the amazing passionate sex you had, (even the hilarious drunken sex too), the very core memories you shared together...don't assume she feels the same way about you...or about any of those things. The whole basis of you feeling hurt is based on a belief that she is walking away from you, from what you had together...when her idea of what you had together can be completely different and counter to yours.
So essentially what that means is ....what you are hurting for was never real buddy.
