The ripples of Change

ezgif-com-443032b618

If every person shares their prayers for peace with those around them. And they in turn join in and pray for peace with them. And then each of them share with those around them and so on.  In a short amount of time all people will be praying for peace and this unified voice for peace will be heard in all corners of the world. That is the power the pray for peace medallion can have on this world.  As more people join in the ripple will become larger and will spread faster. Before long it will be a wave of unified prayers that will be heard and felt around the world.  Each of your actions also cause ripples. Each of your actions has a impact on those around you, those you know and those you have just briefly met. Has someone ever ruined your mood and in return you were rude to someone else? You can stop a ripple from it’s chain reaction like this. Just simple do not let their misery effect you or your actions towards others. That is what is happening in the world today. People are not unified and combining their voice for change into a central focus. A unified voice of all people will start a ripple that smoothly moves from one person to another. Reaching out to all of the world. When this happens then the voice of the will of the people will effect change on earth. That is the basis of the pray for peace medallion. To have a central unified focus for the shared voice of all people.

Bringing the world back from defcon 4 on the brink of war. Used to not be as serious as it is today.  But today we are “One Wrong Move” away from global war. If something is not done to calm the anger and hatred between The Nations and people of the world. Millions upon millions of people will die in the next world war. That is reality because of all the nuclear capabilities in the world. Is human existence on earth on the brink of extinction.

All people must come together right now and help save the world. Help preserve our way of life. Help preserve our right to live a life here on earth. Protecting our children is of primary focus to every parent. Well if this importance to protect the children was brought back into central focus for every leader in the world. Then there would be a focus on making life better and safer for all children. I cannot even fathom to imagine how the building of a nuclear missile with the power to wipe out whole cities full of children. Can be seen as protecting the children. And considering the fallout from this nuclear missile once in the atmosphere. It can make its way back to where it came from. In Turn killing the children of the people who launched it.

The unified power of the people of the world. Will change the direction of the world. This unified will of the people will preserve our right to live on this earth. Will reinforce that all people were truly created equal. It is Now that all people must stand and ad their voice to the central unified demand for peace.

In closing consider this. Hindsight is 20/20 because you can look back at it and see the outcome. Foresight is never 20/20 because you cannot see the future and base your decision on it. But right now we can all have 20/20 foresight. Because if you look at the world today it clear to see that it on the brink of destroying life as we know it. We are at a crucial fork in the road. Down one path is suffering and destruction. Down the other is the right to live a full happy life here on earth.

Pray for peace and we all can live and build a world for many more generations of children.

Put a Pray For Peace Medallion in the palm of your hand………..

John Lennon His passion lives on

“I HOPE SOMEDAY YOU’LL JOIN US AND THE WORLD WILL BE AS ONE”. John Lennon

johnlennonpeace

Achieving Unity and more peace in the world can only be accomplished by changing the
attitude of each and every person on a personal level.

Wichita, Kansas: The Founders Of touch of karma wish to honor the memory and passion of
John with this tribute.

John had a passion to see unity and peace between the people of the world. The lyrics to
his great song “Imagine” gave us a road map to follow on how we could achieve more unity
and peace between us.

John was telling us to put aside all the things that we as people perceive as differences
between us. Our race, our gender, our religion and Geographical differences. So we could
open our minds and see each other as equals. Each deserving to live a peaceful rewarding life.
People of the world are losing their compassion and respect for each other.

We are getting an attitude of me-ism. We are literally attacking each other on an ever increasing scale. It is time to put an end to all this and just follow the message John Lennon wrote in the lyrics of his song .

The world can honor the memory and passion of John Lennon. By coming together and
putting aside all our differences. Making this world a nicer place for each of us.

May the memory and passion of John Lennon stay fresh in our minds and an inspiration to us
all forever.

Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water

Ripples on Water
Just as ripples spread out when a single pebble is dropped into water, the actions of individuals can have far-reaching effects. – Dalai Lama

What does that mean?
I like this quote, because I have seen it in action. It says that when we do something, there are consequences. These consequences spread like the ripples from a small stone dropped into water.

Who knows what these ripples will do. Have you ever been at a fork in the road, and been unable (or unwilling) to chose between them? I know that I certainly have.

And then, something happens, usually something small, and you select one option over the other. You have been hit by a ripple from a stone dropped by another.

Your actions also cause ripples. How have your actions had an impact on those around you, those you know? And how many other people you may only have briefly met?

These are the far-reaching consequences. Something you did may be related to a friend who relates it to another, and pretty soon, your ripples are on another continent. But are they beneficial ripples?

Why is being a positive influence important?
Can you think of a time in your childhood when when you saw someone do something, and it stuck with you all these years? Is that a ripple, probably unintentional, which had a far-reaching effect?

Was it a positive or a negative influence on you? Was it something which caused you to want to do that when you grew up, or was it something you wished to avoid?

Now turn it around. How many things have you done, which others may have seen, and therefore been influenced? Were those influences positive or negative?

If you could do it over again, would you have done it, knowing someone was watching and being influenced? Does that tell you something about yourself and the actions you took?

What of the positive influences you have had? If you could know how they have impacted the lives of others, would you do them more often? Why or why not, can you come up with reasons?

Where can I apply this in my life?
I have two stories of ripples I want to share with you. The first I don’t remember, as I was a baby, just able to crawl. The other was much more recently, and was a direct reflection of this quote.

I had seen my parents and some guests smoking the night before, so I was going to the ash trays to find the things they had been eating, and get some of that.

My mom saw that and was so disgusted that she quit smoking that day. Nearly everyone she told the story to was influenced by the story. For some, it may have been the ripple that caused them to make a decision.

The other story is about my days as a Motorcycle Safety Instructor. A guy who had been in one of my classes told me of a discussion with a friend where they had discussed what he had learned.

He said the friend came back a few weeks later and told him of a situation where the information had helped him avoid a wreck. That is a ripple of which I was very proud of which to have been a part.

What kind of example do you usually present? Who might be observing you, and how might you be influencing them? What are some of your habits, and what kind of ripples do they tend to make?

Have you ever thought of yourself as a role model? Even if you aren’t usually considered as such, you will still have some influence on others. How will they react to what you do?

Knowing that some will be influenced by your actions, if even by a little bit, what might you change in your behavior? Of what might you do less, and of what might you do more?

We all have influence. Some are examples to which we look up. Others are examples of what not to do. I would imagine most of us fall somewhere between these extremes.

What are you, and how are you perceived by those around you? How far do your ripples go, and what are you willing to do to make sure those who are influenced by you are influenced in a positive way?

It’s your call, it’s your life. But those ripples impact us all. The pond of humanity encompasses us all. Please be careful of your actions.

1963 Speech For Peace By President John F. Kennedy

Kennedy describes his vision for world peace in an age of nuclear threats.

American University Speech
June 10, 1963

President Anderson, members of the faculty, board of trustees, distinguished guests — my old colleague Senator Bob Byrd, who has earned his degree through many years of attending night law school while I am earning mine in the next thirty minutes — distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen:

It is with great pride that I participate in this ceremony of the American University sponsored by the Methodist Church, founded by Bishop John Fletcher Hurst and first opened by President Woodrow Wilson in 1914.

This is a young and growing university, but it has already fulfilled Bishop Hurst’s enlightened hope for the study of history and public affairs in a city devoted to the making of history and to the conduct of the public’s business.

By sponsoring this institution of higher learning for all who wish to learn, whatever their color or their creed, the Methodists of this area and the nation deserve the nation’s thanks. And I commend all those who are today graduating.

Professor Woodrow Wilson once said that every man sent out from a university should be a man of his nation as well as a man of his time and I’m confident that the men and women who carry the honor of graduating from this institution will continue to give from their lives, from their talents a high measure of public service and public support.

There are few earthly things more beautiful than a university — wrote John Masefield in his tribute to English universities — and his words are equally true today. He did not refer to towers or to campuses. He admired the splendid beauty of a university, because it was, he said, a place where those who hate ignorance may strive to know, where those who perceive truth may strive to make others see. I have, therefore, chosen this time and place to discuss a topic on which ignorance too often abounds and the truth too rarely perceived — and that is the most important topic on earth: peace.

What kind of peace do I mean and what kind of a peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war, not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace — the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living — and the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and build a better life for their children — not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women — not merely peace in our time but peace in all time.

Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.” ~ Robert F. Kennedy South Africa, 1966

“Peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. But it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that they have and all that they are.” ~ Hafsat Abiola

“If you want to end the war then Instead of sending guns, send books. Instead of sending tanks, send pens. Instead of sending soldiers, send teachers.” ~ Malala Yousafzai (17 year-old Noble Peace Laureate)

“Violence is impractical because it is a descending spiral ending in destruction for all. It is immoral because it seeks to humiliate the opponent rather than win his understanding: it seeks to annihilate rather than convert. Violence is immoral because it thrives on hatred rather than love. It destroys community and makes brotherhood impossible. It leaves society in monologue rather than dialogue. Violence ends up defeating itself. It creates bitterness in the survivors and brutality in the destroyers.” ~ Martin Luther King
