The problem with the article is that it mentions something without going into any sort of detail. That's just lazy - I'm asking for more work to be done. Will it be perfect? No. But, it wouldn't be as lazy to the point where anything could be made up.

Please define what work you want to be done. In the meantime this petition has been reported by every major media outlet including international ones like CNN. It could of course be a hoax, but at first glance it seems at the least such a petition exists, whatever the authenticity of the signatures.

It is the job of the person making the claim to provide proof of it. I know we are in the enlightened post truth world after May 2014 but we aren't there yet. So, it is the job of the article to convince us the claims they made happened. I don't see an iota of proof apart from bakchod farts.
