How do any of you War Thunder players here like the new update? I personally really like the idea of the Assault gamemode and can't wait until it's in ground forces. (With a few tweaks, like a smarter AI and an eventual end to the enemy waves.)

The 29-K seems like a real disappointment, it's basically a flakbus with a shittier gun, no crew protection and the complete inability to use it against tanks while aiming forward.

The FV4005 seems like the ultimate glass cannon; its gun will shred most any target to pieces, but its juicy, juicy ammo racks in the turret can be hit by a simple .50 caliber machine gun.

Haven't really looked into the Ru 251, but an M18 in tier 4 doesn't really sound that appealing.

America gets the T34 and T14. The T34 seems like a solid vehicle, despite firing solid shot. The T34's default round still gets 180something MM of penetration at 1 km, which is pretty much the maximum range of confrontation in WT. Don't really have high hopes for the T14, its armor and gun are okay for its BR but if it gets uptiered it's toast.

Last but not least, Japan kind of gets screwed with a reskinned Swingfire, a reskinned Gepard and the Ro-Go (just another big dumb landship with a horrible gun velocity.)

I personally haven't unlocked the new vehicles but I love the idea of the new A-26 and the new gamemode is quite nice. I just wish they increased awards as they're quite anemic right now. The new engine flames are really nice and probably my favorite part of the update.

Could someone help me identify what this soldier at the center of the pic wears?

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/dd/M1918A2_BAR_Korea.JPEG

The hat is an M1951 pile cap, he is wearing a BAR magazine belt and suspenders, and that's all I could identify. What type of shirt, jacket, pants, and boots is he wearing? For some help, here's some info on the pic:

Taking cover behind their tank escort, one man of this ranger patrol of the 5th RCT, U.S. 24th Infantry Division, uses his BAR to return the heavy Chinese Communist small arms and mortar fire which has them pinned down on the bank of the Han River. At left another soldier uses a field radio to report the situation to headquarters, 23 February 1951.

Here's a version of the pic with the contrast turned up, might help in identifying the jacket and shirt: http://olive-drab.com/images/id_rifle_bar_700_04.jpg (Note: Small size picture)

Also, about M1951 pile cap: the soldier in the pic has the visor of his cap pointing straight upwards. Looking up some pics of the pile cap, it appears to have been commonly worn with the visor pointing both up and down. Would it be possible to fold the visor up and down? I'm thinking doing this a lot would wear down the visor and make it not point straight up.

I've been arguing with someone in the r/news thread about the Estonian Waffen SS, and I'm having troube because he keeps shifting the argument to about how he thinks that the Soviets specifically targeted Jews more than the Nazis and how they killed more than the Nazis, can anyone recommend a breakdown of Nazi war crimes in Estonia? I don't think it will help, he's one post away from talking about the (((mass media))).
