Banned from a "level-headed" Republican subreddit for suggesting that Trump get rid of the call for a Muslim ban on his website (self.EnoughTrumpSpam)

Got the ban hammer for suggesting in a thread of the court overturning that he should take it off his website to avoid any intent issues, and the mods banned me saying I came in to "attack Republicans with empty-headed Democrat talking points." The last place on reddit for a sane place to talk right-leaning politics has been taken away from me.

What has happened to the party I used to cherish? The ideas of a strong economy are thrown out with the push for isolationism and ruining our relations with our allies, the ideas of freedom of expression and press are gone with the authoritarian calls against the "enemy of the people," and personal responsibility turned out to be only for those "lazy blacks" instead of those in rural areas that refuse to learn and adapt to the changing economy.

Just fuck, I am so upset at how it has changed people I love too, seeing people I care for turn into conspiracy nuts and feeling like I don't know them anymore. People are free to have different opinions but this is inherently different, this is a cult mentality and it's frightening.

They don't want to address and answer any criticisms against Trump and his team, they simply want an Echo chamber to confirm how awesome this administration is to themselves.

I got banned from /r/the_D for asking a question about the sub, it wasn't critical of the sub and i didn't make it clear that i was even a non Trump Supporter, it was just a question.

A good chunk of them also just don't care if Muslims are banned.

From the subreddit or banned from the country?.... because that actually relates to the question i asked.

I asked what the post flair "Deport Islam" meant (I worded my post very neutrally and didn't say anything critical). I asked whether it meant the government should try to diminish and attack islam as an ideology, or whether it meant they wanted to deport muslims. All of the responses i got seemed to affirm the first option.

I'd say it's probably a mix of the two from what I've seen. I also find that many of them will say it's just the ideology when they are in certain environments or talking to a person they know isn't a diehard like them. They knew you weren't "one of them", hence you being banned. I've seen the same people say they don't want to deport them in one sub and then talk about white nationalism and deportation en masse in other subs. Obviously not every Trump supporter is like that but I've seen enough that it makes it hard to believe them.

What I really hate most about Trumpism, is how it's come dangerously close to making me into a democrat.

I'm an Independent. I agree with a number of Republican talking points. I don't like the individual mandate. I think assimilation is important. I'm pretty patriotic.

But Trumpism is just so blisteringly insane that I've ended up taking the democratic position on pretty much every issue for months now.

I'm an Independent as well but if I had to choose to identify with one of the two major parties at this very moment, there's no doubt, it would have to be Democrat.
