The Witcher 3Witcher 3...best game ever??? (self.witcher)

In my opinion the Witcher 3 is the best game ever made...a close second is Skyrim...10/10 for Witcehr 3 and 9.8/10 for Skyrim...both games are fabulous and is so hard to chose which one sometime....what do you guys think?? Let me know your thoughts!

It is, but Skyrim would not enter TOP 20 on my list, eventhough I enjoyed it enough to spend 150 hours in it. For me other best games in my TOP would be Fallout 1/2/New Vegas, Vampire Bloodlines, Gothic 2, Deus Ex, STALKER CoP, Sleeping Dogs, Hitman Blood Money, MGS2, Planescape Torment, Mass Effect trilogy, KOTOR2.

You mention some amazing games! Deus Ex is amazing your right! Fallout franchise is amazing but I think Witcher beats it out!

Not for me. Even in the very contained genre of storydriven RPGs with a fixed character it is only in second place after Gothic 2 Night of the Raven or Planescape:Torment.

If I include every genre there is, just based on the probably thousands of hours I put into Diablo 2 since the year 2000... oh boy.

But well, I am one of those guys who consider Skyrim to be the worst of the modern TES games, so maybe I am not the right one to be asked.

I agree with you. Easily the best game I've ever played. The dialog and setting are astounding. The graphics are almost 2 years old and they still blow me away. The characters display emotion well. I didn't even complete many side areas and it took me 96 hours to beat the campaign.

Makes me excited for Cyberpunk 2077.

Not on the same level as VtM: Bloodlines, Gothic2 or Deus Ex but definitely one of the best games the last couple of years. Better progression system and more dialogue options would elevate this game immensely.

I've played about 100 hours of TW3 and I'm kind of lukewarm on it. It's a fun game, don't get me wrong, but the story seems very convoluted. The difficulty is also far too easy imo. I think the bosses are underwhelming, as mostly it's just roll, light attack, repeat. My favorite game would probably be dark souls. It's so atmospheric and the story is great, and has a fair but challenging combat system

Absolutely, I can' think of anything close.

Metal Gear Solid 1-4 are the only other games that I have the same feeling for.

Witcher 1, 2, and 3 all have their strengths and weaknesses, weaknesses of which are purely time related.

I will always hold this trilogy as the best games I've ever had the pleasure of playing and experiencing. I'll also regard them as the doorway into another universe - that of the Witcher, obviously. Not only is this universe a form of entertainment, but also a very deep emotional and mental tool of teaching. A tool that, with the right perspective and ambitions, can help one grow and mature beyond what today's society allows.

I just finished Hearts of Stone and was thinking about how much the wedding celebration reminded me of an episode of Star Trek. There was a moral - to live in the moment - and Mirror Master was Q, an omnipotent force that knows the answers but likes to see you squirm before he spells them out. So many of the quests are morality plays.

They are, and that makes me love this game even more. It's unique and truly one of a kind.

The books are the same way - they tell very good stories with important moral lessons.

It's the kind of game that makes you wonder what else is left to do in the genre. Better combat maybe, but in a bigger-picture sense I feel like this is as epic an rpg as can be made.

There are very few things that could be done better, and those things would require a very excruciatingly tedious analysis to recognize.

There's only one thing to do when it comes to the continuation of this series: do the same thing. This game is nearly perfect, and any sort of new mechanic or feature would, in my opinion, throw the balance off into an abysmal nightmare. More polish and boot shining, that's all it needs.

For me, The Witcher 3 is the best PC game ever. As much as i love it to death, i'll always have a special place in my heart for The Last of Us. That game is the best ever in my opinion. I guess The Last of Us is #1, and Witcher 3 is, like, #1.99. I know that's blasphemy in this sub, but still

I don't know to be honest. I've been playing video games since the days of the Atari 2600 and so there have been a lot of great games I've played during that time period on consoles and PC. I will say that it's the best RPG that I've played to date.

It's the game of this generation for sure. The two biggest things in gaming right now are open world building and writing, and it's impossible to talk about them without bringing up Witcher 3.

Witcher 3 shits all over Skyrim in my opinion. Witcher 3 is superior in story, world, music, side quests, combat etc. Only thing Skyrim has over Witcher 3 is the freedom to go out and start killing NPCs and robbing their homes. Skyrim isn't a bad game by any means but after 100 hours playing it nothing has remained with me after putting it away. In witcher 3 I've spent roughly 200 hours into it and have loved the game and the lore so much that I've bought the books (currently reading sword of destiny), soundtracks, and will be playing the game a third time once I've read all the books.

LOL I love your assessment. Awesome! I did really enjoy Skyrim but yes absolutely Witcher 3 is better.
