There's a lot of people who are desperate for him to fail. He's under the spotlight more than any player in the world.

I think he's had a great season so far. It's tailed off slightly in the past two to three games (and that's as far back as the memory of people online seems to go). But I'd put that down to fatigue more than anything.

He's been the heart of our creative force in midfield and a huge reason why we've looked so good this year. If you want to know how good he's been, think back to this time last year, when we didn't have him propping up our midfield.

He is an incredible physical presence in our midfield. Yes his defensive awareness isn't where it needs to be yet but he more than makes up for it with his passing and offensive vision. He has trailed off a bit recently and I agree completely with you I think he needs a rest.

I believe he is one of our best players and just needs some other players to help him which we will hopefully get this summer.

It honestly baffles me how many of these posts crop up about how average Pogba has been. I understand the negativity and bias from r/soccer, they all want to call him a flop and bring up the price tag every chance they get but how some United fans can say it is bizarre. They must have only seen a handful of games this season, if not they must have some unrealistic expectations or not really understand football and his contribution to the team.

I feel the topic of Pogba is something people feel quite awkward talking about

Trust me, that is absolutely not the case

We've talked more than enough about Pogba honestly

His distribution is unparalleled in the league.

He's created a ridiculous amount of chances the guy should have 20 assists at least with the chances his made.

His finishing is the main area that's annoyed me but he's goal scoring has never been his strong point really. Hopefully it improves in time though.

He gets frustrated easily and can try to hard at times but they'll improve with time I think people forget how old he is and his immaturity shines through at times.

am I the only person who thinks

58,000 subscribers to this sub mate, probably not

For me the people who have been slating Pogba are not watching games and only looking at his stats. He'll come good, his passing is unreal, his physicality matches anyone in the league, he just needs to start controlling games from midfield a bit more which will come more and more with maturity.

You've also got to remember that we're still a transitioning side so his role at the moment might not necessarily be the same next year. I fully expect Mou to go out and sign a specialist DM in the summer which will hopefully then give Pogba much more free reign as he won't have to be thinking about the defensive side of his game as much. At Juve he was playing next to Vidal and Pirlo, let's stick him next to players of that calibre in this United team and really see what he can do.

If you think he has been consistently average and farcically poor, you a) have not consistently watched matches or b) are a 15 year old FIFA player expecting 30 yard screamers and free kick goals every match from a centrehalf.

He's suffering the Fellaini syndrome where EVERY single move is under the microscope by the media and the fans because he was "that" buy. For Pogba, it's because he's the world's most expensive player and anything apart from 100% possession, 100% pass completion and a goal per game simply won't suffice. For Fellaini it was because he was the 11th hour transfer buy for an inflated price and therefore anytime he didn't shine, misplaced a pass, didn't look world class - was an excuse to shit on him.

Let's not go through this again. Pogba is fine. Players simply don't maintain an extreme run of form where there are no dips - they've all had them. Look at Rooney, look at RVP, look at Rojo, look at Valencia when he couldn't stand the #7 shirt, quality always survives.
