It seems worth noting that is largely accurate, though it depends on who you classify as well-off. The main source I was able to find that specifically divides up by both race and wealth is Race, Wealth and Incarceration: Results from the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth, which is unfortunately just incarceration rates without breaking down by type of crime. See table 6 - the richest 10% of black people has a drop and manages to beat out poor white people (and rich white people), but the other 90% does not. So it depends on if you classify the 81-90% of wealth as being rich.

The study mentions bias in sentencing as a possible factor, but the studies on sentencing I'm familiar with claim around a 10%-15% difference after factors like prior convictions are controlled for - it's hard to imagine how that could produce a 350% difference in incarceration rate. And arrest rates (for violent crime at least) don't seem to have any bias if you compare with victim reports via the National Crime Victimization Survey. For an overview of the scientific literature regarding racial bias in the justice system in general I recommend this post.

The racial disparity in violent crime and the fact that the disparity doesn't just vanish if you control for wealth is so well-accepted in the studies about the issue that it's weird to see people straight-up denying it. A lot of the criminologists and sociologists studying the issue are pretty much in the field to fight racism and their studies are about closing the disparity or trying to find and remedy discrimination, but they still accept and account for the fact that there's a huge racial gap in violent crime.

Gish-Galloping is the act of making so many claims in such a short amount of time that your opponent cannot possibly dispute them all.

What the fuck? This is literally what every single person who debates Destiny does. Whenever Destiny even comes close to having them respond to their self-made logical paradox, they change the subject or take the argument out of context. Like when JonTron goes to countries other than the US when confronted with facts about the US, or Athene completely dodging the questions he's asked, or Lauren Southern switching the debate from economics to culture. If anything Destiny tries really hard to keep people focused on ONE topic at a time, but can't because his opponents refuse to do so.

Honestly as someone who almost got sucked into this quasi alt-right, KiA, sargon, Atheism-is-unstoppable wormhole, I've seen this coming for a little while.
It kind of starts with gamergate tbh. I'm a nerdy atheist who liked watching atheist vs theist debates like thunderfoot, armored skeptic, etc. then suddenly the topic switches to everyone vs feminists and these people you've sided with on X subject start attacking this new wave of feminism that's trying to poison everything so I trust these people!, because they've shared my views before. After watching the 900th video on Anita, I start wondering why they can't just let this chick make her videos and leave her and her fans alone. I mean, after all, are we going to pretend like her and other feminists aren't being mercilessly harassed by the anti-fem people and their audience?

Once I start self-reflecting a bit, it's easy to see it's mostly just all pure hatred and dogpiling on the witch of the week. There's no middle ground and all these people calling themselves left, but do nothing but attack people on the left.

So what happens? They start getting a more right leaning fanbase, which amassed until they take over these types of subs and now something that started off innocent enough (I'll give Kia the benifit of muh ethics in game journalism) is now some alt-right apologist shit.

Thunderfoot is one of the few people who is a self-declared skeptic that actually deserves the title. To be a skeptic is to be skeptical of both sides of the issue. Most of the youtubers who were critical of SJW's/Obama/The Left have figured out that it will be a negative financial decision to come out as critical of Trump/Alt-right. Thus they have made the decision to double down.

You can see the same thing when it comes to Fox News and Trump. Many of the Fox News pundits came out as 'Never Trumpers' less than a year ago, and now are sitting at their same desks attempting to defend him. Just look at Kellyann Conwey before she was hired by his campaign. This is also not an issue from one side of the aisle. Simply look at MSNBC and CNN over the past 8 years and compare it to how they treated the office of the president under George W. Bush. It is much easier to objective, critical and a skpetic before you have a large audience that wants one side of the story.

But TF himself doesn't even take that position. He regularly laughs at other people's dislike ratios (no I'm not going to go searching for sources, I'll just assume we've both seen it since we both seem to watch his content) but his are some badge of honor to laugh at haters. It's dumb.

You'd think that those who spend so much time in a virtual space would actually educate themselves considering their access to information (albeit not necessarily good sources. I'm here to make the case that Destiny is actually a terrible debater and hasn't actually "won" any of his debates.

Give examples? I'd say from the talks I've heard so far he's held his ground pretty well.

It's a pretty bitchy term aimed at creationists particularly, but it applies to so many other areas of life that it really use a vital term when talking about debates. Gish-Galloping is the act of making so many claims in such a short amount of time that your opponent cannot possibly dispute them all. It works even better if many of these claims are false or extremely unfounded.

Do you know the reason debates often have moderators? It's because certain problem speakers have a bad habit of shouting, speaking over people, interrupting and refusing to let the other person speak. This is controlling, manipulative behavior and is unacceptable in conventional debates.

Destiny for the most part listens. I'm not going to say he doesn't talk over people, especially when they're rapidly moving between topics, but he has patience.

Watch any of his debates, and you'll see him express very dominating and controlling behavior
