Why not just use any old coffee can or jar? That's what I do. It's not too difficult to find anything to hold pens with, although I will give you props for thinking outside the box because I have never seen anyone hang their pens up.

Yea but pen removal seems like it would be a mess. You can't really just grab one and pull it up without the entire setup falling apart and scattering everywhere. You would have to pull the clip out and then remove the pen, it's a two handed job. Or maybe I'm looking at it wrong..

Original doesn't always mean good, though. For example, this one time, I didn't have a pen holder at my new job, so I made one that looked like shit and didn't function well by destroying a perfectly good paper clip. It was original, but I later found out that it gave my boss serious doubts about my future with the company, and those doubts ultimately led to my termination. I still wonder to this day...if I had just used a mug, would I still be homeless and HIV positive right now?
