Hello Flatev Backers!

We are very pleased to bring you some great news on our progress!  As you can imagine, with significant progress comes challenges. For Flatev, our biggest challenge has been enhancing the technology to accommodate a wider variety of Flatev Flatbreads and Flatev Cookies. Have no fear though, our very talented technical team in Zurich has been able to develop the required solution. As a result, we are full steam ahead! The downside though, is that we will now be delayed approximately 8-12 months for shipping you your Kickstarter Artisanal Bakery and Flatev Dough Rewards.  We will keep you updated as we get closer to launch, and hopefully we can shave some time off of our delay. 

Even though we are behind on our original schedule due to the complexity of a first to world single serve bakery, we continue to make excellent progress on all fronts. One key milestone is that we have just signed an agreement with the Rutgers Food Innovation Center in New Jersey to manufacture our dough.  The following statement from the Executive Director is an excerpt from the press release.  

“We are very pleased that Flatev has chosen to establish their first global operation within our FDA and USDA inspected facility in Bridgeton, New Jersey,” said Lou Cooperhouse, Executive Director of the Rutgers Food Innovation Center. “There is a clear consumer trend in conveniently packaged products that are freshly prepared at home, and away from home, and Flatev is pioneering this trend in a category where freshness is extremely important. The global kitchen appliance market also is expected to grow significantly in the years ahead, and we believe that Flatev’s growth can be quite substantial in both retail and foodservice markets.”

Another exciting milestone is that we have also just finished our Design for Manufacture Prototype (ready to go from development to production) that was introduced to our investors and backers last month in Zurich.  

Our next step is to run extensive testing to ensure we have the highest quality product, and then we will purchase tooling and prepare to scale production.
