I find it slightly bizarre that Kasper never made it to a "top club". Yes, he's had a career so far with a lot of up and downs, but arguably, he's seen more domestic glory than legends like Gerard who've never won the title once being at Leicester and being part of a team that'll go down in history regardless of their next achievements (assuming they won't exceed expectations this year with CL).

But it's odd, with such a talented keeper, that he never made it to United (considering his father's galactic impact), stayed on at City at a high level, or moved to Chelsea, or even Liverpool. I mean, especially the latter - both they're keepers specifically are very poor, he would've done markedly better things at a team like that than Karius or Mignolet.

I always said a few years back, that if De Gea went to Madrid, which he of course will eventually - then he would've been a good fit. His mentality is brilliant and his skills: solid. He's definitely on a level with Romero (if not slightly better). Of course, he's older now, but GKs age pretty well. I mean look at Buffon.

What're your thoughts on his career? Is it not somewhat unremarkable his general career trajectory? Do you think that all of this is ultimately void considering he's spent his youth in tier 1/2 leagues, and aged yet became league champion with a smaller team?

I don't know why, I just feel it was a bit of a shame, but perhaps I'm putting him in a context where his dad's shadow is entering too much into the picture.
