I fear I am becoming obsessed with Aido. I have been eagerly awaiting their much-heralded livestream of Aido in all its glory in front of a real journalist. And here it is!!!

It's just under four minutes of spectacular fail that is the funniest thing I've seen for a long time. For a start the video appears to have been filmed with a toaster. Aido itself is resplendent in table-top form and with a "face" that is notably smaller than the Galaxy Tab it used to use. What happened?

There was no mention of the projectors or any of the accessories. Most delightfully, Aido can barely understand a word that ol' Arshad is saying. Google Now it's not. Amazon Echo has nothing to worry about. Siri is safe. Aido is utterly useless.

On the plus side they have also uploaded some (entirely separate) video of the "mobility base". On the downside, they still haven't managed to demonstrate it a) with the main unit, b) to any independent observer, c) performing any kind of autonomous path-following, or crucially d) actually balancing on its much-advertised goddamn ball. It wobbles around like a child's toy.

Nevertheless I strongly recommend watching the videos for their comedy value - video 1, video 2. Wouldn't you just love to have that piece of crap clanking around your house, tripping over the thinnest of rugs and terrifying your cat?

Well done, Ingen Dynamics. Once again you have spectacularly failed to demonstrate anything close to what you promised. Let the bullshit fountain continue!
