I'm not siding with either, but maybe Uber driving isn't for Adam

She's was being a bitch, he was being an asshole.

No reason he couldn't have calmly, politely, and professionally asked them to exit guy his vehicle instead of going straight to 100 and telling them to GTFO.

He flipped out right off the bat and didn't wait at the designated pick up spot.

Oh you were there, and you saw their pin drop of the designated pick up spot? Interesting.

You actually think if he asked nicely they would have left LOL...that cunt wasn't doing to do anything she didn't want to do.

I had Uber take me a local liquor store one night. I wasn't drunk. Never talked to him. Just tell when a guy is a douche.

I said "ok be right back"

Looks at me says "wo wo wo. You want a ride home " I thought for a second he was kidding Then my smartass self replied back "of course what do you think I'm going to do? Have a wedding reception?" It's not like Target where you are browsing I was in and out in under 2 minutes

He still never took me home

Waited outside the liquor store for a half hour for the next driver

Thank god for Lyft. Now they pick up where I live

Can anyone explain what happened? It sounds like the guy was waiting at the wrong location and then cancelled the ride right when the girls showed up. Then it looks like he gave a little bit of attitude before the girls did. But everyone seems to be unanimous in their hatred towards these girls.

I'm actually in the same boat, I'm not sure how the whole thing got started. Why didn't he just say "Oh well we got our signals mixed up"? It didn't seem to me like the girls did or said anything awfully bad. I've never taken an Uber before, is it something about the way the system works that led to this?

"Don't fucking cancel on us, you weren't at our location, Jesus CHRIST. We just RAN to get you"

"some address GREENVIEW"

"COOL"

"Well figure it out cuz we're both pooling...."

"ok well this is Alana. How convenient"

You really don't see how she was being a rude snarky fuck? Her friend was fine, but that other chick ruined it with that shit attitude. He was being totally cool as she said all that shit before he finally told her to get the fuck out.

Yeah I watched it again and I can see your point. He didn't take any shit at all past a certain point I guess.

They were bitching at him for not being at their pickup location. According to the thread the driver posted, there was nowhere to park or pull over where the girls were waiting, so he parked 100 feet away. The girls wouldn't walk to his car until he had already canceled their ride, which is where the video starts.

This man's entire Youtube page is videos of him driving people. It's weird to see him trying to monetize his trips even more. If drivers in my city start doing this, I will stop taking Uber.

At what point does it become kidnapping on her part?

why is a 5/10 acting like a 9/10

I feel like I'm the only one that sides with the women here.

Sounds like he pulled up and parked much further away from where the pickup was supposed to be. Then immediately flipped out on them after like 30 seconds of them getting in the car. Plus, he said he cancelled on them and was already waiting on someone else? Well...10 minutes of video later, and that "other customer" never showed up.

The girl that sat behind him was the other customer. Also, he didn't immediately "flip out." When someone barges into your car, starts making demands and then snaps at you to "figure it out" I doubt that anyone with any sense of self-worth is going to sit there and take it.

If they had calmly said, "Sorry, we misunderstood the location. Can we reset the trip or request another one?" none of this happens. They came in drunk, obnoxious, and belligerent, regardless of where he parked

It pretty much started with her attitude. On her side she could have started with, "Hey, sorry we missed your car, we were over there and you were over here and we didn't understand what was going on."

On his side he could have said, "Hey sorry I had to park further away than normal, the pickup area was already mobbed by cars."

Instead we get a perfect storm of clashes. His anger didn't help anything. Her entitlement didn't help her any.

Does Uber have a policy for when the driver can't reach the designated location? I would think "as close as is legally possible," would be fine. But this is Uber, I see these drivers parked illegally constantly.

I definitely agree it's just a bad combination of two assholes with clashing personalities.

And as far as policies go, I have no idea. I've never used Uber before. I have my own car, and multiple bicycles.

it's not acceptable to get into someone else's car and immediately start talking to them that way, he had already cancelled their ride so they had no point to be in his car in the first place, then to refuse and get out, it doesn't matter how much of an asshole he was to them how far away he had parked or whatever circumstance led up to this point because from the moment the interaction started she was already in the wrong.

[–]The_Hippopotamoose 2 ポイント3 ポイント  (1子コメント)

Okay time to edit this video! I wonder if I should cut out the first 60 seconds where it's just the guy sitting quietly in his car... nah.

... not sure where you were in the two minutes preceding the phone call to the police, but it isn't 0-100 at all.

0:00-1:10: Waiting for another client.

1:10-1:35: Knowing the ride is cancelled, both women get inside his car. Advises the girl and her friend uber poolmate, while smiling, that he's waiting for another client and her ride with him has been cancelled. She responds by telling him "figure it out."

1:35-2:00: Girl on the right is apparently the new ride, but they inform him they're expecting him to drop off two extra people as well, one of whom is not yet in the car. He tells her to get out and she instead tells him it's his fault, because he didn't give her curbside service.

2:00: "Get the fuck out of my car."

2:05-2:10: "Oh, I don't think so, nope. Call your Uber people, call 911. I have time. I have all day."

2:10-3:15: Politely calls the cops and advises them the woman is trespassing. Girl on the right says "let's wait outside the car." Drunk woman glibly replies to her friend that she's comfortable and willing to wait in the vehicle.

3:15-3:40: Driver stays quiet while the girl on the left starts picking a fight with him over passing her stop.

3:40-3:53: Driver blows his top in frustration.

3:53-4:00: Girl claims that she no longer feels safe and wants a police officer to show up. Accuses the driver of being drunk. Stays inside the car anyway.

4:00-4:12: Driver yells at her that she's trespassing on his private property, after which girl on the right tries to shepherd the drunk girl out of the vehicle. Girl on the left is too drunk and stubborn.

4:13-5:01: Rest of the video is the drunk girl filming the driver, while still trespassing inside his vehicle. Girl on the right gets out of the car and walks away. Drunk girl remains inside, claiming she's going to ruin the driver's life/career, and taunting him about how she's going to post him everywhere. Random pedestrian happens by and spends the rest of the video trying to reason with the man who owns the vehicle, instead of the woman trespassing inside of it, giggling as she taunts him.

Seems like a pretty reasonable series of events to me.

EDIT: Also, in case you missed it, the second part of the video reveals that the random pedestrian is actually a criminal defense lawyer and he tells the drunk woman that she's breaking the law by sitting in the driver's car against his wishes.

Just curious, would it be legal for him to forcibly remove her from his car? Asking because if she played with/disrespected security at a bar or club like she did with this driver, they'd physically toss her out with no hesitation. What's the difference?

Im also curious as to what would happen if he just started to drive to another destination while this woman refuses to leave his personal vehicle.

He could easily leave and drive to another location. The only thing is as soon as she says she wants to get out he had better stop the car and let her out.

The only thing is as soon as she says she wants to get out he had better stop the car and let her out.

No, he doesn't.

When it is safe for other motorists and himself he needs to stop the car.

They don't get to block traffic on the highway because they feel like being even bigger cunts.

No judge or cop in the country is going to rule against him for being a safe driver and if those cunts cause his driving to become unsafe, THEY get to go to prison.

I don't understand why internet lawyers keep saying drivers have to let passengers out AT ANY TIME. That's not true and it actually illegal on many roads.

You don't want to make a situation that's in your favor go to the other person's favor. He did the right thing by staying there and calling the police. He didn't forcibly remove them; he didn't drive them to a random location and desert them. If he had, he could've set himself up for liability if they got hurt, or worse, killed.

The way he handled it gives him the upper hand legally speaking. Now, whether Uber cancels his employee contract or not...that's still up in the air.

Uber pool riders are a special breed of entitled cunts. The amount of contempt for service industry workers in general is sickening, at least in my city (Boston). You're paying 4 dollars for a private car ride across town, this isn't a fucking livery service.

UberX riders are the same. My friend and I met our share of entitled assholes in our city. We went the extra mile with water bottles, gum, and the like and put forth the best effort to be polite even when we were pissed or had a terrible rider. But man, some people just didn't give a fuck. This was their limo and they were the President of the world and the extras were an obligation on our part.

I don't miss Uber driving one bit.

yes, traditionally that's how it is/was, women and children are too delicate to hear certain words, see certain things or know about the vile cruelty of the world.

Sloppy me thinks he's being nice when he's just being incredibly creepy, though.

I recall about a year ago (..St. Paddy's day..) I got an uber with a friend back to my place, and the driver was a woman. We got in and was all handsy on my friend and he was like, "Wait till we're back at your place..." and I was sad, but then turned to the driver and was thought I was being super nice and told her she was super hot and if I was straight I'd jiggle her boobs.

My friend was like, "He's gay, and drunk. Please ignore him."

The next morning, upon reflection, I realized I was being really fucking creepy and gave her a 5-star rating and a review that was basically, "I'm sorry for being such a creep."

To be fair, it's a "privilege" that we men tend to use as well. A friend got away with foul language in high school because it was just "banter between guys". A week and a half later he tried the same trick but it didn't work because this time he swore at a girl.

I know this example isn't the best but it's the first that came to mind. Seriously though, more often than not both sides support these bullshit privileges when it's beneficial to them. Can't really blame others for doing it then, can we?

Yeah it's unfortunate that the sub is turning into "overreact and beat the shit out of women over spilled milk". Used to be a good sub, but it's getting pretty toxic now

Theres only so much fitting content for a subject that specific.

There other day in that sub there was a video linked about a woman going after a cop with a hatchet. The cop gave her every opportunity to drop it, but eventually he shot and killed her. About 20 different users were arguing with a mod in the comments about how it had nothing to do with 'pussy pass'. It was just a clearly unstable woman going after a cop. She wasn't using her gender to justify her actions. This mod was either trolling, or incredibly thick-headed because he denied everyone's points about how the video had nothing to do with her being a woman. They argued for a few hours, I think. It was then I realized that sub is a lost cause.

Arguing in general is just stupid. If you think the content doesn't fit the sub, downvote. If you are in the minority, the sub will go a different path which you don't like, unsubscribe. It is a shame in some cases, in others it made my reddit experience just much better to filter out the crap subreddits that once were great. /r/montageparodies being one example.

IMO, any sub that spends too much time bashing the more extreme elements of SJW culture runs a serious risk of just turning into a bunch of bigoted assholes attacking anything that makes them feel uncomfortable. I used to go to /r/TumblrInAction all the time, and then it slowly changed from "this person thinks that they are a fish and all women are gay" to "this person is speaking out against a real problem that affects lots of people, but she's a woman so she's probably gonna bitch about the wage gap or something.

How is voluntarily remaining in a vehicle the same as being kidnapped?

The constituent parts of kidnap are:

The offence contains four ingredients as follows: (1) the taking or carrying away of one person by another; (2) by force or fraud; (3) without the consent of the person so taken or carried away; and (4) without lawful excuse.

In this case if the guy had driven off then you could not make a reasonable case for point 2. As long as the driver never holds them against their will and never lies about the destination then there would be nothing illegal about driving off with them to his house. As long as he doesn't prevent them from leaving the car at any point (outside of places covered by point 4, for example refusing to let them out in the middle of a freeway or anywhere else where it's not legal to drop off a passenger) or lies to the passenger at any point, or gives them a reasonable expectation of heading anywhere else (for example like a destination sign on a bus or if the driver had accepted their destination via the Uber app) then the driver would be fine.

Yes. If you ask them to leave and they refuse they must submit to where the vehicle takes them.

...said Ted Bundy. Back in reality land, you can withdraw your consent to be in a vehicle with someone at any point of your choosing, and they need to let you out of the vehicle, or it's abduction, potentially punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Back in reality land, you can withdraw your consent to be in a vehicle with someone at any point of your choosing, and they need to let you out of the vehicle

Hmm. Yes. How well does this work on a city bus? Subway? Aircraft?

A school bus driver is under no obligation to let an 18 year old adult student off AT ANY POINT ON THE ROAD.

When you're on a highway overpass and some crazy drunk cunts demand that you stop the car, that's ACTAULLY illegal.

"But Judge, these drunk bitches said I had to stop my car

There is a minimum amount of liability that you accept when getting into another person's car.

He is not their slave just because they sat in the car.

Stop pretending to be a lawyer.

Well I mean, this is why we have a legal system to determine whether or not the driver had an opportunity to safely drop off the passenger who wanted to leave.

City buses typically have the rope you yank on to tell them to stop at their next convenience along with having stops an individual can leave the bus safely at. Same with subways. Airplanes are of course tricky but typically medical emergencies and even just someone freaking the fuck out can divert a plane immediately. You're making it sound like people legitimately want to dropped out of an airplane or in the middle of a highway.

Correct. How long into that ride toward his house would those 2 cunts have capitulated, and demanded to be let off? 1/4 mile is my guess.

leveraction1970: "Serious question, what did she think was going to happen?

Remember, we're only seeing what "happened" once the situation had already escalated to the point of him canceling the trip, his driving away. Because, if you listen to the other (2nd) video, she spells it out, her intentions, pretty clearly at :20 and then 2:12 or so, when even the other guy makes a point of telling her that she must leave the vehicle, at least eventually, and she doesn't really say anything to object on that point. So, by then, she's not really trying to get him to drive her home as much as not be left out in the cold late at night in whatever city this is, at that particular moment. Instead, she's simply waiting in his vehicle till either 1) Police show up, on his call; or 2) Some other ride materializes.

Because, from her point of view, this is perfectly fair on account of that she left wherever she was immediately before (from inside the warmth and relative safety of a some bar, clue or other type of venue) on the premise that her ride was already there waiting?

Which is why, to be perfectly honest, I think these videos are, at least some of them, pretty much fake, staged. For how plainly it's all set-up as some kind of legitimate vehicle or pretext for the angry, frustrated, disgruntled (but still-righteous) red-piller to finally get his chance to call out the 'foolish woman' as bitch and cunt or whatever other politically-incorrect bad words.

...the guy was closer to beating the shit out of her..."

Well, that's the kind of fantasy they're trying to appeal to, right? That type of video is not so far off. Although, once flagged, YouTube will tend to remove that type of content pretty quickly, so...

Maybe he drives Crazy Taxi style now to scare the hell out of you. Maybe he eggs your house ever day for a week. Seems like poor planning every step of the way.

"Would you then want to be driven to your home by a guy you've just pissed off immensely?"

He already has her address anyway. That's kind of beside the whole point. She's not really trying to make him actually drive her home anyway. Just holding him accountable for cancelling, i.e. make him have to wait a minute or so until she can arrange for some alternative way home.

What's really crazy, from my point of view, is how he then tells her how he's going to drive home himself. Which, of course, she must know he can't really mean that, like, if you were driving Uber, and some crazy person wouldn't leave your car, would you (realistically) think to solve that by driving them to your own address? So that they then know where you live?

Or she could've not been so drunk-rude and entitled in the first place. But, you know, it's Uber, what do you expect? You're basically undercutting people who work very long hours at a dead-end and at-times dangerous job. I mean, what do you expect the customers to be like? What do you expect the job to be like? That's basically the job, in a nut-shell, shuttling drunks around, it practically wouldn't exist without that aspect of serving people who're too impaired to drive.

Which speaks to why I tend to think stuff like this is staged, fake.

I mean, aren't there (usually) lots of cops out on the streets where all of the bars normally let out? This guy, apparently, drove away from all of that.

Where this happened at was Underground. He was parked in front of the firehouse across the street here

Typically they'll have cops sitting on Hubbard St. just a block south of his location. Hubbard St. is far busier than where this took place. It's a shit show. I work in the area not far from where this went down. They usually have coppers sitting in front of O'callaghan's who are there every weekend.

You also have to take in account that this was St. Paddy's day weekend here. One of the biggest drinking holidays of the year across the country. People were lining up at 7 a.m. to get into bars that open at 8 a.m. Cops were stretched pretty thin and are more then likely already responding to multiple calls involving drunks. It's a busy day for them. This wasn't exactly emergency material so they didn't respond to it.

He could have driven up the block but I don't see the girls acting rationally. They would have probably made up a story or the police wouldn't have been there because they were on a call. There's really no way in winning that situation.

Ah well, so... what do we have here? She had to pay? (I dont know how uber works at all), she got posted on the internet for being a bitch, and had to leave the uber car anyway despite refusing to earlier.

Also... is there a video of her video she took of the uber driver online somewhere?

Honest to God, if someone yelled at me to get out of their car, no need to say it twice. Anyone losing their cool is capable of doing physical damage. It's called adrenaline. And I'm not blaming the guy for losing his cool. Just looking at it objectively.

When he told them to get tf out of his car... OH MY GOD. That felt so good, I was literally giddy watching it. The friggin' nerve of these chicks, seriously.

Could he have driven them up to some po-lice, and then said "officer, these two douchebags won't gtf out of my car"?

I wonder what would have happened if he drove off with them inside, still refusing to get out. Like just drove them way far out of the way. I assume they'd leave at a stop light.

I don't care how unprofessional he was, those girls were being so dismissive and disrespectful. I have no issues with him telling them to get the fuck out of his car. Nobody should be forced to put up with people speaking to you that way.

This video made me rage, the way that cunt moves her mouth when she says "home" looks like she's either trying to swallow the guy at the door or gasping for air.

        ugh

They both threaten to give him a 1-star rating. If he canceled both trips, then can people still give a rating to a canceled driver?

Notice how calm and professional she suddenly gets when she takes out her phone, so she can seem like the victim to her friends and youtube.

Guarantee this is how 90% of those videos go, where someone is being recorded pissed off and the person recording acts so calm.

Of course, this happens on the douchiest block of bars in Chicago. Good on this guy for telling her to fuck off.

        Liveleak Mirror: https://www.liveleak.com/view?i=ba0_1489432910

Geez. When she pulls out her phone to start taking a video of him it reminded me of how many videos seem to start after the person acts like an asshole and then is a victim when they have their camera on. This woman is doing exactly that. This video is a perfect example of how someone escalates a situation and then pulls the victim card when they push someone else over the edge.
