CNN’s Jim Acosta dryly commented this afternoon on Kellyanne Conway invoking Inspector Gadget in clarifying her remarks about surveillance today.

Earlier in the day she talked about smart microwaves that can be used for surveillance purposes, which she insisted later on was a comment generally and not about surveillance at Trump Tower. She told CNN’s Chris Cuomo, “I’m not Inspector Gadget, I don’t believe people are using the microwave to spy on the Trump campaign.”

When Acosta covered the latest on the fallout from Trump’s wiretapping tweets on The Lead today, he started out his report by telling Jake Tapper, “Go go gadget backpedal, Jake.”
