OP set us up the bombe.

All the cakes are belong to us.

give me two of those

But...

But you have the cookie crust both above and below the cheese cake. Therefore doubling the amount per slice.

That's... that's not allowed. I want it.

Seriously that better be Tiramisu custard instead of just simple whipped cream or I'd chew your ass out so hard while eating half of the entire cake, and just scraping the cream off into your sink.

Is... is that cocoa powder?? Cinnamon? Either one seems like a strange choice to me. Did you bake the strawberries inside the cheesecake while it cooked? How on earth did you create that crust? Or is this like no bake "cheesecake" that you poured into a bowl lined with crust and stirred strawberries into?

You're breaking my brain here OP, what magic did you employ?

I assume the downvotes are because I'm not effusively praising this strange looking dish lol. I've got nothing against strawberry cheesecake, but trying to figure out the method here is far more interesting.

The outer layer looks like tiramisu to me

Me too, it looks more custardy than typical whipped cream. Of course it could be "whipped topping," as well. We may never know!

Looks like Cocoa Powder, a chocolate sheet cake pressed into a dome mould, and the no-bake variety, respectively to me.

Edit: no idea why the whipped cream is not white, but best guess is it has some chocolate beaten in.

Yeah, there are flavored whipped cream you can make just by adding chocolate

The easiest way is to bake the flat bit of the crust separately and stick it on at the end. You can see that it's kind of broken up and not in a whole piece.

And you can see crust layers overlapping on top.

Bake the cake in 2 containers, one round and one flat round so you can create a bowl with a lid. After the cake is baked, put in the cream cheese filling and chill, and make the tiramisu and slightly chill. After its chilled, then add the tiramisu exterior.

It's important to chill it first so it doesnt hit that critical state where the filling is about to be absorbed into the cake. And I hate to get all "Andy Rooney" on us, but I think we all prefer cakes to be light, fluffy cakes with the tiramisu on top.

The method is probably the following. Bake a thin sheet of chocolate cake. While it is still warm and pliant (about at the stage you would start rolling a swiss roll) cut it into pieces and line the inside of a deep bowl with pieces of cake. Cover in cling film and set aside. Make the filling, something dairy based with strawberries in this case. It doesn't really matter, you just want that filling pretty firm. Use gelatin if your filling of choice is too liquidy or soft or make something custardy with eggs. Remove the cling film and fill the bowl with filling. Press down firmly, I'm thinking you want this pretty compact. Use left over cake to cover the bottom. Cover with cling film again and put in the fridge for a few hours or overnight. Take it out, cover the opening of the bowl with a serving plate and turn it all upside down quickly. If you are lucky that sucker should plop right down. Cover generously in an icing of your choice, this is probably just whipped cream, dust in cocoa powder or not, your choice. Serve.

what magic did you employ?

This sorcery appears to be the works of a true chef!

Looks highly atypical as far as cheesecakes go. I am curious how this was made?

  • bake a thin cake first
  • cut it up and line the bottom of a round bowl with pieces of the cake
  • fill the bowl with the cheesecake/strawberries
  • cover the top of that with pieces of cake
  • set/bake (?) the cheesecake in the bowl
  • invert the cheesecake onto the serving plate/tray
  • ice with a fuckton of whipped cream

fill the bowl with the cheesecake/strawberries cover the top of that with pieces of cake set/bake (?) the cheesecake in the bowl

See these are the steps that get me, because cheesecake batter is very dynamic when it is baking. It leaks through anything that isn't perfectly sealed, that's why cheesecake pans are designed the way they are. Cutting up a cake like that and lining a round bowl with pieces of it and then scooping in a bunch of cheesecake batter would make it seep through any cracks in the cake that it can find. Looking at the outer edge of the cake, it doesn't look like that happened. But that's not even the most confusing part. As I said, cheesecake batter is very dynamic when it is baking. It puffs up a bunch and then settles. Having a layer of already cooked cake on top of it while it is baking would not result in a perfect shape like that. Plus the cake would get burned. It has to be a no-bake thing, I'm thinking. Which is not really cheesecake.

I want that in and around my mouth.

I'm not even going to comment on what I thought about when I read this.

I used to have an ice cream cake pan for things like that and never thought of making a cheese cake.

Side note, ice cream cakes aren't my thing. I used the pan once and never saw it again. Shame.

We need a new rule: "9. Provide recipe in comments".

This actually needs to be a rule. I'm dead serious, too.

At least for [Homemade] tags.

Not all [homemade] posts are hand crafted by OP. There are plenty of subs that require recipes, like /r/eatcheapandhealthy, /r/budgetfood, /r/recipes to name a few.

Or at least a reminder on the submission page that says "if you do not include the recipe in the comments, 90% of the replies will be people bitching at you for not providing it".

Looks like a baked Alaska.

All the comments about tiramisu kind of make me want to try that dessert in this format, but then I realized that I honestly prefer an even distribution of my zabaglione and espresso soaked lady fingers (or genoise).

This kind of baked Alaska esque formation is pretty interesting though. I think I have no choice to but make a ginger cookie crust for something soon now.

I must be the only one that hates "fancy" cheesecakes. Plain cheesecake is as close to perfect as you can get for desserts.

NY style cheese cake is the only right way

"NY Style" cheesecake does not mean the same thing as "plain" or "unflavored" cheesecake. I wish people would stop making this mistake, and I wish advertising would stop leading people to make this mistake.

New York style means it has been made with cream cheese as a base. It is opposed to Italian style, which uses ricotta cheese as a base instead.
