So weird rules question, I know chromatic spheres draw a card as a mana ability is weird, but can I activate it say in the middle of a thought seize or clique, and if so does the card stay face down until after their resolution but still be picked?

You can’t activate mana abilities in the middle of the resolution of a spell unless you’re asked to pay mana.
