Wow this crowd sound so relaxed - I'm jealous. At the one I went to the other night in Providence people were literally clapping and shouting every 5 seconds whenever a song they liked started playing and it was so fucking annoying. Like wait until the gap between songs, don't drown out the actually music every 5 seconds, it's so disrespectful and annoying.

    Kelsey834
+TakkaDawg Yes, but in between songs not throughout the entire performance. They are professionals and are used to not hearing applause throughout the entire show because that's normal. The music itself shouldn't be drowned out.

+Kelsey834 Even this crowd was pretty irritating. Hard to enjoy the quieter music because it was nearly drowned out by people talking and giggling. I'd be pissed if I paid money to go to one of these just to have the experience ruined by the crowd.
    3 4
    Grimgerde
+TakkaDawg The etiquette at orchestral concerts is to wait for the conductor to turn around and let the audience know they may applaud before applauding. Applause during the performance ruins the experience for the people actually trying to listen to the music. But video game concerts mainly appeal to kids so what can you do.
    5 6
    GONZOglasses
I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds that annoying. I play the violin, so I have naturally gone to many professional concerts and people don't realize that there is a level of "class" that you have to hold during these. I know it sounds really stupid, but it's true. These concerts are very formal. I am 50000% sure that the majority of the people who go to watch The Symphony of the Goddesses would not give a fuck if they were performing a full suite by Beethoven or Brahms.
    4 5
    Grimgerde
+GONZOglasses Classical music concerts are for people who want to actually hear and enjoy the music. How are these people at the Zelda concerts even able to listen to the music if they're so busy talking and laughing their heads off?

+Kelsey834 That's why they totally need to make a CD with all the "live-performance-exclusive" medleys and movements and such, the way they made the 25th anniversary CD that came with Skyward Sword. Maybe for the 30th anniversary? (Maybe not, because they're releasing Twilight Princess's original soundtrack for the HD version coming out that year for preorders...) I'm crossing my fingers for a CD, I really loved that Spirit Tracks part, and I desperately want to hear a crisp, clean version!

+Chris Applegate Respect? You must have never been to a live orchestra before if you think that's "respectful". If people can't control themselves then they just shouldn't go. I love Zelda, but I'm not sitting there overflowing with uncontrollable emotions and applause. It's disrespectful to the people around you who are trying to listen.

+FORTHELOLZ003 You do realize that before these Zelda and Pokemon concerts they say that It's perfectly fine to cheer and clap, since these aren't like most orchestrated concerts right? So fuck people for doing what they're told is okay, am I right?
    1
    Kelsey834
+Brandon Fehl I've been to a lot of musical performances and shows - Yes, it's normal to clap and cheer when they perform a really spectacular piece or a song that is very well-know/liked. BUT, that is not the same as cheering and clapping throughout the entire song, even the quieter parts so that people can barely hear them. It's really such a simple, basic concept to understand - Enjoy yourself, but be respectful of the other people around you.
    1 2
    SinisterMinister
you always only appluad between songs... ALWAYS... pretty fucking stupid to clap in between to be honest...
    1
    Kelsey834
+Brandon Fehl Like I said, it doesn't have to be a graveyard like during a normal symphony, but when it gets to the point where you literally cannot hear the music then it becomes annoying. Especially if you are unfortunate enough to be sitting next to a group that can't control themselves and go crazy every 5 seconds.

Through vast fields, through time itself, to the horizons of the sea, and between dimensions of light and dark, from the highest peaks of the sky, to the darkest caves of the Earth. Even to the end of time itself. Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them. This is Legend of Zelda.

+Balls McGee For real. I'm so glad people knew how to behave at the show I attended. Sure, between movements we cheered and clapped to let the performers know how excellent they were, but during the music? How are we supposed to hear their beautiful playing if you're laughing and talking?! Shush-a-bye or leave the theater, children!
    1
    Grimgerde
+Matthew Harnage A lot of us want to hear the music, not you cheering or talking. If you can't keep quiet out of respect for the music itself, then keep quiet out of respect for the rest of us to paid money to hear the music. There's a reason why classical music concert etiquette evolved to be what it is and that's to allow everyone to fully hear and enjoy the music, and that precludes shouting and screaming and talking from the audience.

+Robyn GordonI went to Symphony of the Goddesses 2 days ago in Montreal, and the conductor actually encouraged the audience to cheer during the performance if we really enjoyed a particular score. The audience remained calmed throughout most performances, although we would occasionally start cheering for a few seconds when awesome parts came up Gerudo Valley

Amazing. Simply amazing. These concerts really bring out the best in The Legend of Zelda. Not just the music, but the epic, sweeping adventures that they are. Back in the day, I used play play Zelda games religiously. Loved the series to death. Still do, but admittedly my interest in gaming kind of fell off for a while. But a few weeks back I saw one of these concert videos on YT and was floored by it. Have been coming back periodically ever since. And I've been inspired to get back into Zelda now. Been playing some of the classics. Just completed Wind Waker(my fav in the series) for the umpteenth time, and I'm now working on Majora's Mask again(Via MM 3D). Enjoying them as much as I ever did.  Gaming will continue to evolve and have great new games and series' as time goes on. But there will never be anything quite like The Legend of Zelda.

Spirit tracks is horrifically underrated, it just feels as if zelda "veterans" (can we stop using the word "veteran" for video game fans? Its sounds so fucking condensing) hate the game simply because its on a hand held or its a new zelda game. It had puzzles harder then any other zelda game by FAR and had such a nice happy ending

Its unbeleivable how much talent there is when creating such games. Who ever said a game is only a game....there are some very nice soundtracks as we can see. Some, like Zelda, can even be called masterpieces.

Who cares about Grammy's? Since when do Grammy's consistently point to masterfully crafted music? The very fact that popular music genres win the majority of them should tell most of the story. I think games are only starting to be taken seriously as a valid art form. There's lots of crap out there like with anything else, but there are masterfully created games as well. And it's impossible to argue that many game soundtracks aren't masterfully composed either. It's all a matter of perception at this point.

It's nice to see that the music was connection to the audience. it was a great feeling so please don't diss the crowd. saying that they have bad etiquette or whatever. It's not every day as a classical musician that you get this kind of reaction and appreciation.
