Hi guys,
So, I'm a frequent user of the MGTOW subreddit, less frequent poster, but I thought I'd share a short tidbit exposing some classic female entitlement.
I'm in the film making business, attempting to set up a professional production house for myself, so that I don't have to grovel at the feet of a producer when I am trying to get a passion project done. A female acquaintance of mine, let's call her Jane, became aware of this, and asked me to help her make a 10 minute documentary for her Capstone project. I agreed to hear out the project, thinking that there could possibly be some great story behind it and as a rational business man, I shouldn't leave any stone unturned. If I had to rate her attractiveness, I'd say she was a 7/10 who usually gets her way, but I've been celibate for years now, as I've previously discussed on this reddit, so that was irrelevant.
I sat down with her over lunch today to discuss terms on the project. We started talking, and she told me "I handle the facts and script, you just edit the film.", in an almost condescending way. I calmly explained to her that I'd want written ownership of the project, as well as visual control of the project and confirmation of the script, to ensure that it fit in with my company's values (no pro Nazi stuff, nothing against Jews, nothing racist, that kind of thing). She looked shocked.
She then explained to me that I would be volunteering to work for her, in exchange for exposure on her Instagram, Facebook, and even Twitter, and because, as she batted her eyes, we were such good "friends". Wow!
Flatly, I told her that my usual going rate was 500 per day for production, and 50 dollars per hour for post. I was doing this solely for fun and out of kindness, but seeing as it was my equipment, my crew members, and my time, I would want to own the project, so that in the future I might submit it to a contest and make back some of my money.
She became angry, as if I slapped her across the face. Her entitlement had no power here.
We agreed that, because of "creative differences", we wouldn't be able to work with another. I politely paid for lunch (should've gone Dutch in retrospect), gave her a few contacts she might be able to notify, and we left.
The guys that I recommended to help her will actually be even crueler than I was, and charge her the normal flat rate or bail. I can't say I didn't try.
