Mindfulness, DBT, CBT, radical acceptance. Focusing on ways to rationalize and compartmentalize dysphoria. Trying to "unlearn" whatever beliefs about your assigned sex/gender that drove you away from identifying with it as you were supposed to "naturally." Hard focus on the shortfalls of transition to "prove" the futility of trying, and accept the only way to be "real" and "authentic" is as your assigned sex/gender.

I bet "discovering your root" is part of it too.

I've been through DBT for other stuff and I found it incredibly gaslighty so I'm not surprised they want to use that on trans people.

Every time I've pressed for details I don't get any so now I just picture a dark room and you get tied to a chair while a disembodied voice tells you that you're a man and gives you a basic biology lesson and every time you look away they shock you. It's ridiculous but so was the time a GCer told me I was a coward for not embracing my masculinity so I'm just going off that.

Given that there is only one "therapy" model available for the attempted change of an innate characteristic that is physiological in nature it is immediately obvious that the only thing therapy that transphobes really want trans people to go through is conversion therapy. So, basically, torture and ECT until you either find a way to escape or you become fundamentally broken and/or kill yourself.

CBT doesn't work on any variation that a person may have from the norm that is physiological in nature. CAT; ditto. Same with counselling of any other description. Therapies like these can help cope with psychological problems that occur when somebody experiences stress as a symptom of the variation (which is where the biopsychosocial model comes in), but that's their limit.

So any time you see a transphobe pushing for therapeutic treatment for trans people, it's a push for conversion therapy. It's the well tried wedge strategy, first they push for innocuous treatments that they know won't work, and, when they don't work, push for conversion therapy as the standard model for treatment. The parallels between how TERFs push in this area and how their fundie Christian allies are pushing to have conversion therapy reinstated as a legal form, and eventually mandated, form of therapy for anybody who doesn't fit the cis-heteronormative status quo is both frightening and damning.
