I don't think it's as intrusive as some people think it is. Like, it won't be used for every foul and every decision, it's there in case something like Suarez's dive or another situation where the referee is unsure of what has happened/what the situation is and wants to get a second opinion or a better look at it.

Those that say it'll ruin football because it'll take "the drama" out of the game are just complaining for the sake of it.

(for examples of people who have stated that video replays will ruin "the drama" of the game, listen to a recent Football Weekly where Barry Glendenning makes this kind of statement)

No. Think about sports which currently have video review/refereeing - rugby, NFL even cricket. Slows down the game quite a lot. It also opens up the precedent of reviewing nearly everything. I prefer football to go on for 90 min + stoppage time. Let the game progress naturally. Sure there may be some 'bad' calls, but it happens for and against every team.

American football lasts for at least 2 hours. The amount of actual gameplay is roughly 12 minutes

That's not due to video review though

Agreed partly. There's reviews on every TD play, timeouts, huddles etc it all adds up. A game that's technically supposed to go for 1 hr

I think you're confusing reviews with commercial breaks. There are frequent commercials after each change of possession etc. As for reviews each team gets a max of 2 and tds are reviewed automatically from a remote location so it's pretty quick

Isn't a large part of that due to advertising or something?
