Happy Friday boys! Monday can't come soon enough.

What are everyone's thoughts on using a 2-striker system while Zlatan is out? I could see Rashford running off of Rooney and being a nightmare for Luiz and Cahill.

I noticed when Zlatan and Rooney are on the pitch together, they tend to occupy the same space, which would suggest Rooney could be effective receiving the ball and playing Rashford into the channels for goals galore. The downside to Rooney is that he is the major aerial threat.

I don't know if Rashford can consistently function as the lone striker. The other thought is to have Martial and Rashford up to together and play Rooney or Miki behind them, however, based on JM's comments last night, Miki won't be playing 90 minutes.

Rooney would play better with Rashford in front of him than he would with Zlatan.

That said, Rashford would play better with Mkhi or Mata behind him.

No I'd much rather Rashford gets some game time and has Mkhi and Martial to run around with.
I imagine Luiz and Cahill would much prefer to play against Rooney than Rashford.

I agree with you about Zlatan and Rooney occupying the same space, and think Rooney would be better without Zlatan on the pitch. I could see him in an attacking pair with Rashford. It could suck tho..

Would be good to see Rooney and rashford upfront together. Yeah whenever Rooney and zlatan play together, it really reminds me of can persie and falcao, as you said both occupying the same place, making the same runs.

However maybe with Rooney and rashford upfront , Rooney could act as a false nine, allowing rashford to make the amazing runs which we were so accustomed to seeing last season.
