Sweden’s left-leaning government instituted a military draft for both men and women Thursday because of what its defense minister called a deteriorating security environment in Europe and around Sweden.
Sweden abolished compulsory military service for men in 2010 because there were enough volunteers to meet its military needs. It has never had a military draft for women.

Or as people like to quote “all is fair in love and war”.Not likely. Women will be inducted into their military in non combat roles in order to release men from “sedentary” duties, so the men can be used in combat.

Allow me to clarify that.
Modern western women will not be relegated to combat roles.

Why should Swedish men defend a state which treats them like second class citizens by law and custom? It is not honorable but dishonorable to serve in the military of a nation which treats you in a dishonorable fashion.In my opinion, the men of Sweden and of all nations, inclusive of the USA, should refuse to serve in the military, especially through mandatory military service, the military draft until there is a reasonable relationship between military service and the right to vote, electoral representation. Otherwise, the pattern which developed during and after the War in Vietnam and which continues to this day of: 1. Exploiting the military; and, then, 2. Denigrating the returning veterans; and, then,3. Granting, by law and practice, employment, educational, legal, and other forms of preference to those individuals and groups unwilling and/or unable to serve in the military, especially the combat arms, will continue. Only 1% of American young people are both qualified and interested in serving in the US Military.
