I used to be like you, friend. I loved my slow cooker - easy prep, good food, ready when you get home for dinner. Then I discovered the magic of a pressure cooker and my life has been forever changed.

Dry beans to fully cooked in 45 minutes. Pulled pork in an hour. Chicken soup from quarters in an hour. And, the electric ones also double as slow cookers.

To recap: chicken quarters, beans, and pork shoulder are usually on my list. I ask the supermarkets which days they typically get deliveries because that is they days the reduced veggie rack is stocked - usually perfectly good food there that doesn't fit on the regular shelves.

Frozen veggies go one sale at least once a month, so I stock up and eat them over time. Also using a pressure cooker / stock pot to make, well, stock from bones. Either leftovers from cooking or cheap/free from the butcher.
