I can safely say, "I support Israel" (in this).

As the only nation in the area that actually protects individual liberty, even with all their misgivings, I can say that too.

Fuck the religion and foreign aid, but I find Israel to be a very well-ordered society. Much more than the ones surrounding it. Not sure what's with all the hate for the Jews these days.

I'm with you on foreign aid.

Beta males on the internet. They're just a vocal minority.

This is probably the most refreshing Reddit comment thread I've seen in at least 6 months

I hope this is the beginning of a trend towards more respect of private property rights

I am from Israel and let me just say this is not in any way decriminalization, it's a political stunt that actually makes things worse in many ways.

Marijuana possession will still be considered a criminal felony on the Israeli law book. Past criminal records that are due to personal use will not be deleted.

If you get caught smoking you get fined, second time caught, a larger fine, third time, criminal.

All in all this only encourages pursuing personal users even further, for money (the law also changes nothing about smoking on private property and laws regarding police searches in private property on the grounds of suspected marijuana use).

Can you explain why you think Ron Wyden would be a suitable VP pick?

He's pretty centrist economically and supports civil liberties, and wouldn't take a republican out of the senate. Too be fair though, he'll likely be too old in 2024 and maybe by then Justin Amash will be a better choice.

Maybe that will convince the Israel-apologist Trump administration to decriminalize it as well
