I think Blanq is simply referring to aesthetics: german forces weren't necessarily better, they just looked great. This is a very common notion, even if not a very PC one.
The uniforms, the tanks, the planes, even the flag: almost 100 years later, it's still instantly recognizable. Nazi Germany was certainly ahead of its time in terms of design and style.
"Wehraboo", I think, is more about a belief in german military superiority: that they had the best soldiers, the best generals, the best pilots, the best tanks, etc. Which may be true or not, but it's certainly not totally absurd, considering what was necessary to defeat them.
I liked russian WW1 winter uniforms - or at least what I think the russian winter uniforms look like - a little more than the Reichsheer's. Still Feldgrau is just <3
