Just look at this nugget of wisdom:
Rampant in the alt-right and libertarian community is this notion that taxation is theft.
Some try to get cute with it and say it’s extortion, but none the less, they believe it to be some negative occurrence brought on by an oppressive government.
The reality paints a much different picture, however.
The Argument that Taxation is Theft
Bear with me while I try to wrap my head around this convoluted logic. It goes something like this:
You own your property. Even your body is your property. When an employer pays you money in exchange for your time, this money is your property. When you voluntarily exchange property (cash, products or services) with another person, these items become your property.
No one has a right to interfere with your property. Not even individuals associated with an entity called “Government”. Despite offering you services and other benefits in exchange for this tax, it is still an act of theft because it’s not voluntary.
Are you with me still?
Taxation IS a Gift
Capitalism has crushed the soul of Americans and forced them into a life of slavery. The master is capitalism and the other 98% are the slaves.
We simply do not have the financial freedom to voluntarily gift our money to support basic infrastructures such as roads, bridges or highways.
We simply do not have the financial freedom to voluntarily gift our money to support the less fortunate, the downtrodden, the mentally handicapped, the physically disabled, and the oppressed minorities.
As long as we live in a society dominated by capitalism, taxation is not a necessary evil; it’s a gift.
The State of Compassion
Libertarians like to claim that the state is evil. But really, under capitalism, it’s our savior. Taxation makes it possible for the less fortunate to live at least slightly above the poverty line.
It gives us the ability to travel on roads that are generally well-kept. Who’s going to voluntarily pay for roads and the ability to travel when we barely have enough money to feed ourselves?
The state recognizes this basic fact and is willing to go through the difficult and sometimes dangerous task of collecting money on our behalf.
The IRS and tax collectors are perhaps some of the most vilified people on this planet, but I would like to extend a great debt of gratitude to these individuals for the service they provide.
Without them, our cars would be useless, our houses would burn, security would be non-existent, and ghettos would be par for the course.
I’ll tell you what theft is..
White America. White males. The privileged who prance around like they’re decent and moral people whose achievements are their own.
Theft is the bias that permeates throughout society that disables minorities from experiencing the same opportunities in life.
Taxation is their lifevest. Taxation is a gift.

Runs a website.
Here’s what gets me. There isn’t any argument here countering “taxation is theft.” You merely point out things you like that are paid for via taxation. This isn’t an argument countering the thesis “taxation is theft,” what this is, is a pro theft argument.
Hi, I think it’d be really interesting if you’d put your giblets where your mouth is and debate some libertarians on this subject. I would pay to see that, actually.
Money to your favorite charity. I propose you debate Eric July.

Please. Do. It.
yas. yas. and yas.
Oh god. That would be so one sided, it would be awful to watch.
If you are poor, stop being lazy and go to work….
You are confusing taxes, with forced charity, also known as theft.
This has to be satire.
That privilege comes from the institutions that create unfair advantages. Those same institutions you praise while attempting to vilify accidental birth with a certain amount of melanin in their skin. Additionally, you do not seem to comprehend how the IRS actually works or how money is created/destroyed/managed. All in all, you have no real qualification to speak on the subject and less validity to even be believed on the subject. Maybe you go read some explanations, hell the Federal Reserve has a manual you can read. In the IT world, you would be told to RTFM.
#taxationistheft
You just want to play mental gymnastics to justify it.
It is a gift to use coercion to take a percentage of what my labor is worth? It is a gift to threaten me to pay yearly for property which I already own? It is a gift to take money that I have saved my entire life away from my family after I die before my body is even cold?
Oh, God! Muh roads!
“Gift”… you keep using that word. I don’t think you know what it means. I’ve given and received many, many gifts through the years and never once was the point of a gun involved.
