We got into a debate and says she gets paid less as a lawyer compared to a male one. I doubt what she said since she didn't talk about their degrees and stuff, but I have no idea how lawyers do their jobs; explanations are appreciated. :)

Well its pretty normal in mostly any trade that the pay is different depending on simple things like company, reputation and actual work hours. A man working more will make more. A man with better reputation getting richer clients can charge more. This also goes for females, so she can only blame herself lol

Just point out to her that it is illegal to pay a man and a woman of equal experience and skills differently. If she is a lawyer then she understands that.
