My undersdanding of FA issued bans is that they can only be decided when the referee misses an incident during the game.
For example the Jonny Evans and Papis Cisse (is that how you spell it?) spitting incident during LvG's first year as manager. Here both players spat at eachother in a United-Newcastle match, and duly received bans after the game.
With this logic in mind Ibra shouldn't be banned since the referee clearly decided not to give Ibrahimovic a second yellow for the elbow incident. By same reasoning Mings may be banned by the FA since the referee did not act uppon his stamp on Ibra.
Is my understanding correct, or may Ibra still receive a ban?
