Just got news a woman I used to work with passed away. Apparently she kept her 17 year old son home from school the other day, and then she slit her own throat. That poor boy, lost his mum and prob discovered her.

If anyone is feeling down or low please get help, the suffering you inflict on the people who love you and leave behind is not worth it. Please do talk to someone.

In other news, housemate has pre ordered the switch. Hope he gets an extra controller for when the smash bros and Mario kart launch

Picked up the PS4 Slim + Horizon Zero Dawn + extra controller £199 deal yesterday after my GPU died on the PC. Fuck knows why i didn't start gaming on console sooner, the game looks incredible.

I think i had it in my mind that console games still looked shit like PS3.

So far i'm really enjoying it, but i'm only a couple of hours in and most of that was basically tutorial and story so haven't seen much of the open game yet.

Hopefully get a good few hours in this afternoon.

I'm so used to only gaming on the couch/TV on the PC when playing FIFA that i keep catching myself forgetting i'm using a wireless PS4 controller and placing it down a certain way when i stand up so as not to catch the cord and pull it out of the tower behind me.

Need a new show to watch lads. Just finished Taboo, excellent show although the finale was a huge let down. Also, stopped halfway through Arrow because it was shite.

haha still can't believe he agreed to that role. Normally he only takes roles with a lot of meat in them, never thought I would see him in a Marvel super hero movie but to be fair the movie wasn't totally awful and he played Odin well.

What kind of show are you looking for? Right now my top 3 are GoT, TWD and Sense8, but I watch tv shows all the time, so I can probably help you find something you'd like.

I've watched or tried to watch most of the "big" shows. My top 3 would be Firefly, Deadwood and GoT.

So I'm looking for something of the Deadwood type, well written and underrated, something I haven't heard about before.

Would you say Sense8 is really good? I've tried TWD, got burnt out at around season 3 or 4 don't exactly recall, felt it was just getting worse and worse.

Sense8 is amazing! I assumed eveybody loves it but apperently many people on reddit hated it so maybe it's not that good. I don't know, but I love it! You know when you are watching something and you feel like you're not even halfway through, and then it suddenly ends, and you're like 'no, it hasn't even been 20 minutes'? That's how I felt all the time watching Sense8. They are definitely pushing the LGBT stuff a bit too hard, so don't even start if you don't like that.

I've never seen Deadwood, but I'll try to list some shows. You probably heard most of these though.

Orphan Black

Mr Robot

Misfits (the first two seasons were fantastic, but after that it just gotten worse with every season)

The Killing

The River (only one season, but I loved it)

American Crime Story

Narcos

Orange is the New Black

The Leftovers

I've heard a lot of good things about it but usually I hate "kids" shows or shows with child protagonists so I've stayed away from it so far. Does it have a mature theme and a well written plot?

I absolutely adore 4 out of 5 shows you listed in your all time favorites. Rome being the only one that I haven't watched. So I'm thinking I'll bite and start watching that one.

Rome is absolutely great. If you like the other four I listed, I almost guarantee you'll like Rome.

Line of Duty and Happy Valley are great too; pretty gritty British police thrillers (not a genre I usually like). LoD gets a bit silly in some episodes but I haven't seen a show in quite some time that makes me flip-flap so often on who I think the baddie is. Really well written.

The Night Of is a mini-series that I'd highly recommend too.

I did like Luther a lot, so I'm ok with police thrillers, might watch Line of Duty.

I did watch 2 episodes of The Night of around the time they first aired, wasn't really my cup of tea.

Black Mirror is a bit of a weird one for me, I watched it for a bit, I liked it and I could see it's fantastically written but it's a bit too mind fuckey for me if that makes sense, so I stopped watching after a few episodes.

And yes, you have to watch Westworld asap!

I have this coworker who sometimes tells me stuff like she wishes she wouldn't have gotten married so young, talking about how she has problems with her husband and things like that. Yesterday she asked me if I want pizza tomorrow. I was like sure, assuming she wants us to order pizza to work the next day for luch. After I said yes, it turns out that she meant that she wants to go to a pizzeria with me after work. Since I told her before that I'm not doing anything after work, I didn't want to be like "oh, I actually I forgot that have this thing". So I guess I'm going to the pizzeria with her today.

Saw somebody say on here that you wouldn't be limping after doing a hamstring (this was after Mkhi came off against St. Etienne and reports said he wasn't limping when he was walking out of the hotel the next day). Can safely say that is pure tripe, did mine last Sunday and I've been hobbling around ever since. It's excruciating, maybe you could walk around fine with just a tweak, but if you properly pull it there's no way your moving around unrestricted!!

It definitely depends on the extent of the strain you have though as a minor one (a little more than your usual micro tears that is from a lot of soreness/etc) means you likely could walk properly. A bit more and you'll feel the muscle is weak and can't even bend your leg/raise your ankle to your butt.

Tore mine during sprints training years ago. Heard it pop. Jumped up on the track and was wincing around on the ground for awhile. Could barely walk that day but several days later I was taped up and could walk quite properly while also being able to play floorball (not too fast as I was recovering) as part of my fitness build up for track.

Yours sounds a bit less mild but with proper therapy and conditioning towards building it, you'll be fine again very soon I'm sure.

Yea the extent is definitely important. Mine was mid sprint and heard it pop, pulled up straight away. It's definitely bad enough as I could barely move it the first few days. But it's also quite low down towards the knee and also towards the outside of the leg so I know that's meant to be good. Bruising also isn't too bad so I'm hoping I'll be back at it soon enough.

I did the other leg a few years ago and it was much worse, high and central and the whole hamstring went black! Was out for well over a month!

I just can't fathom how people think you could walk fine after if you pulled it completely. Like surely if it was bad enough to hear a pop you would be at least slightly restricted for a couple of days at least. Obviously just tweaking it is another thing, which is probably what Mkhi did, but hearing that pop surely you'd be hobbling a bit no matter the extent?

Had a group assessment day at PwC on Wednesday for a summer internship. Literally no idea how I did compared to others.

Also don't understand what is wrong with me. I'm considering buying Switch to get Zelda, literally only reason I'm considering it because the appeal of the switch (the portable side) doesn't even work for me given I hate portable gaming.

Got LASIK done and I couldn't feel better. No more glasses and no need to spend crazy amounts on new sunglasses!! Now I'm working on getting some python and R certifications before I head to grad school in the fall.
