Nonono you got it wrong. Because when people started looking into the gamefiles to mod, they found something: death sounds for all of the children in the game. Why would those be in there, if the children can't possibly die?

Imagine if you could kill kids in the game. Its nothing big really I mean you can go on a full on killing spree and murder everyone if thats what floats your boat, so its not that gamechanging for the average player. Its just another Nazeem at the end of your sword, except this one is half the size.

But for the average soccer mom, its everything. "The Eldar Scrolls: the game that promotes child murder!" is a very catchy title (and yes I meant the typo cus soccer mom Cindy doesn't really know what she's talking about) and would be hard to explain because technically, you can kill children in the game. No logic will work to explain it because soccer moms have 100% resistance to logical arguments, even on the lowest difficulty.

So no child killing in the game. But you kinda want to have child killing in the game for the sake of completion. Certain characters can't die because otherwise parts of the story become inaccessible but theres no good reason for not being able to axe snarky Braith after some of his comments, is there?

So you do all the work and put everything required for child murdering in the game, including the voice-effects for when they die. Then you wait untill the modders find those files, go 'oh, neat', write a few lines of code that change 'murder rude kid = false' to 'true' and bam: child murdering in your game, without you having anything to do with it.
