About this project
Have the choice to be seen or unseen with just one action.
Reflective jackets are great, but they don't always give you the versatility that you need. There are some moments in life when you need to stand out, just as there are others when you want to blend in - your clothing should be able to meet this need. Originally designed in response to the refugee crisis, this jacket is now being released for consumer purchases. For every jacket you buy, we will donate one to a refugee.
Why refugees?
While researching the refugee crisis, I noticed numerous daily issues faced by refugees that could be addressed through design. This prompted me to create a series of garments that responded to these needs. These products aimed to provide shelter, safety, comfort, security, and other things to people on the go. After testing in Greece, we are now offering one of the main jackets for pre-sale and donation.
This jacket has been tested in Greece
And received a 100% positive response from the refugees living in several camps.
This jacket was originally designed to address the need of a refugee to be seen in one second and hide the next. By having a jacket that could instantly adapt, their safety can always be a priority. After testing the product in Greece this past fall, we determined that it is guaranteed to increase safety for refugees while traveling at night, especially on unlit roads.
Features
With one side entirely reflective and the other a camouflaging green, you always have the option of being seen or mixing in with your environment. The lightweight jacket is perfect for biking in the city, walking in the suburbs, or hiking through the woods.
Made from highly reflective materials, the jacket offers complete visibility in low light. The waterproof fabric will ensure that you stay dry, regardless of whichever side you are wearing. With multiple reversible pockets, you can easily store and access anything you bring with you. As an all-gender garment, the oversized style allows for any wearer to look chic. The one-size jacket has sleeve length adjustability to allow for a personalized length.
Rewards
If you would like to combine rewards and receive a jacket with a T-shirt or hat, please manually enter the amount in your pledge.

A reflective jacket is just the beginning.
We are launching with the Reflective Reversible Jacket due to the immediate need of this product within refugee camps. However, we have several other unique, innovative pieces that are still in development.
Support a brand that has high goals and wants not only to donate to refugees, but actually make ADIFFerence in this crisis.
What is ADIFF?
ADIFF is a new humanitarian fashion start-up that provides customers with innovative and exclusive products, addresses global issues through design, and performs large scale donations. The brand creates all gender and one-size transformable products that are equally beautiful and functional. The multipurpose jackets are practical, durable, waterproof, and prepared to be worn in numerous environments. Products are solution-based, meaning every item is designed to address a need, to avoid useless saturation of the industry.
Originally designed to assist refugees, the positive response to the collection and consumer desire pushed for the products to be released for purchase as well. Founder Angela Luna saw this as an opportunity to give back and generate revenue that could be used for donations to refugees. Based on a donation-driven business model, the goal is to repurpose the money that comes into the fashion industry and redirect it towards supporting humanitarian initiatives. With any purchase from the brand, a portion of profit will go towards donating the most needed items to refugees. This way, we can be sure that we are getting these innovative products to the people who need them most, and creating widespread awareness about the issue itself.
Full transparency is imperative within this start-up, as we promise to create our products with ethical and sustainable practices. We want our customers to be sure that they are purchasing products from a brand that is only doing good for the world. We will only be working with ethical manufacturers, and we are trying our best to source sustainable fabrics for all of our products. A humanitarian brand is only as good as its global supply chain!
What is goodgood for good?
goodgood for good is a social good department within goodgood.nyc - this is the department that works with charities and nonprofits to create real social impact by design, strategy and creative thinking. goodgood for good got involved with Adiff because of its huge potential for real impact, and immediately applied it’s “future proof” method to the work - What needs to be done, and why? Creating this Kickstarter page for Adiff, and a new brand that reflects the values of the company. Through careful planning, art direction, and a strong strategy, the Reversible jacket was chosen to be a flag product for the company, since it fits so well urban needs of people in developed societies as well as the visibility / camouflage unfortunate needs for people in torn countries, who travel great distances by foot.
Adiff & goodgood for good created this opportunity for you to get involved, and to make a change if you’d like, or to buy an innovative product that is also fashionable.
Risks and challenges
This jacket is our first prototype, but is nearly resolved in design. The jacket that will be produced will have a few small modifications to enhance the quality of the product. Our design sketches above indicate all modifications that will be made to the existing prototype.
We are talking with several production factories but have not yet secured a production contract. However, we plan to resolve negotiations with a factory by the end of this Kickstarter campaign. Any delay in delivery would be due to a prolonged definition of production facilities.
We are currently sourcing the best materials and trims for scalable production of the jacket. We aim to complete this by end of February.
During this preliminary round of donations, we will be doing our own distribution within refugee camps. From our previous research and aid trip to camps in Greece, we made the appropriate contacts in order to carry this out. We will only distribute in a camp if we have enough products to give to every person there. In order to determine this, we will conduct further research into the number of refugees inhabiting several camps. Based on our production quantities, we will decide in which camps to distribute. By conducting donation distribution independently, it is possible that we could encounter unexpected costs. We plan to orchestrate this distribution trip during Fall 2017, allowing for maximum donations to be distributed.
