Charlie and the gang deciding what's best for everyone again.

Completely centralized decision making which make the EF look like a bunch of hippies :)

I'd like to see the scientific rationale for 210 million coins. What an amazing coincidence their calculation for the optimal number of coins happens to be exactly 10 x 21 million. Now where have I heard of 21 million coins before ...

IOHK "science" at work :)

You seriously don't have anything better to do? Well guess what I have gout right now so I'm totally free to counter troll :)

These are legitimate questions:

  • who are you to dictate ETC's monetary policy?
  • where does the figure of 210 million coins come from?

... and as usual you deflect any criticism by calling anybody who questions you a troll. Even when I called out Vitalik during the hard fork (under an older account), he always responded with information that I could agree or disagree with, even if the hard fork was ultimately unforgivable IMO.

But you? You're motivated only by revenge against the EF, which is a very poor motivation. We all know that if they hadn't fired you, you'd still be with them and would have sided with them to hard fork the DAO.

Actually I would also like to hear the rationale behind 210 millions.

Honestly man where the hell have you been for the last six months of debating, podcasts, and slack convos? I didn't even write ECIP 1017- snaproll did.

Could someone from the community step in here and explain it to this guy?

It's not 210M. It's probably around 211M, up to 226M -- depending on uncle mining rate.

There were different models considered here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Fs_RNEPSRJxP22PZmwxWjiulVVcu5Ic1GvBXCPCt9to/edit#gid=640070299

The models were not targeting a specific maximum # of ETC -- they were intended to find a reasonable block reward reduction rate, which is why the max ETC is an odd-lot number.
