So, after his Congressional speech last night, it seems like it had some kind of crazy effect on the people in my area.
It didn't seem to have any effect on democrats. They hated him before, thought he was a liar before - and they see nothing different here. From a lot of them I've hear things like:
- 'Why is he getting praise for acting normal? For doing something the way he should and not end up off message over boo's and people not clapping.'
- 'He lies about everything, are we really supposed to believe any of this?'
- 'He was pandering. Some good pandering, but we know that's all it was.'
His little VOICE thing has them up in arms, with which I agree....everything is normal on the democratic front.
Now, switch to the republicans (in the deep south, Georgia), they're all loosing their damn minds today. Now, after being obsessed since wining the primaries, they suddenly hate him? Hearing things like
- 'He's too liberal! How did he hide this!?'
- Path to legal status! Who flipped him!? The party has lost him, he's working for the dems.'
- 'The only good thing he said was his VOICE plan, the rest was soft appeals to dems feelings to make them like him. He's a fraud.'
What the hell happened? I watched the speech, I don't think he turned 'too liberal'. He still seemed liked the lying, pompous, arrogant, smug, racist, stupid fucker they voted for. Is he losing his base finally? And why now?
