One possible way would be to have the Post Match Day Thread be heavily moderated to remove said 1-liners and the like.

Agreed completely that the post matchday should be about discussion, not overspill low-effort from the post match.

Problem we have is enforcing it, as removing comments for not being 'good enough' might put us in tricky situations if people complain.

Just try to make sure your comments are open for discussion and not 'we were great' or 'rojo isnt good at LB' etc etc...

I find they're usually a little bit livelier after a loss, and often a lot more level-headed than the post-match threads.

After a cup final, I think we've all celebrated adequately (after all it is only the league cup) and also the end of the road for that competition. There's not much reason for reflection. We won the cup, didn't play particularly well - not much else to say.

It stems further than the current one though. The thread is for discussion after everyone has calmed down, discussion being the key part. If you don't have much to add it's probably not the thread for you, but it is being filled with more and more random 1-liners.
