Republicans have no ability to reason, and you should not even try. Their base is religious, scared, racist, uneducated and incapabale of rational thought. The issues that they say matter to them have been solved and they don't care.

• Abortion = lowest levels ever... so what.
• Unemployment = historically low... so what.
• Immigration = an economic boom for the country... oh well they're brown.
• Economy = outperforming in every sector... must be in spite of some brown president.
• No my guns = highest gun ownership ever, but ignore that fact.
• Crime = historically low... nah must be the worst ever.
• Terrorism = mostly committed by white christians... nope nope nope, that terrorism doesn't scare me. Only the dark terrorism scares me.

The solution my friends, is to simply fucking lie to them. We need a set of code words, (like they have), which allows us to say one thing publicly but lets the democratic and progressive base know what we really mean.

• I am against abortion. (Now means... I am for choice but like to have less people getting abortions)

• Islamist terrorism. (Now means all terrorism)

• Gun freedom. (Now means everyone has "access" to own guns after rigorous background checks)
