The reason appears to be that u/VoteAnimal2012 was scared of being removed because of their general assholishness, so they asked the higher-ups to purge everyone and start stacking the modteam with their best buds.

u/VoteAnimal2012 is the head moderator of r/fullcommunism, u/lovelybone93 appears to moderate literally everything. The former started endlessly harassing other moderators and tying everything up in petty disputes.

As a result, several other moderators came forward, creating a thread on r/lsc_mods proposing to punish them by making them mail-only permissions for 30 days. Unfortunately it seems they were unwilling to give up their toys, and contacted u/aruraljuror, u/Triplanetary etc. to stage a coup, which was planned 24hrs ago.

Around five hours ago, every single moderator except for the FC mods were suddenly removed.

Something that I think may not be clear or well-known is that u/VoteAnimal2012 has an enormous cult of personality, which is half-ironic and half-scarily-real. People fucking worship this guy. There's this clique of mods on FC, LSC, and r/socialism and it's insane shit.

We had that discussion originally (about the name) but couldn't think of a good alternative. Unfortunately for Reddit but fortunately for us, being "without edge" is like a clear niche since nearly every political discussion is so goddamned childish and edgy. Ultimately I don't think over-complicated sub names really hamper you when you get going, they just make the beginning a lot harder.
