It seems there has been a recent uptake in situations that are very "meme worthy." Trump's victory, the Steve Harvey mess up, and the more recent La La Land/Moonlight Oscar debacle. All these situations (very unprecedented in recent history) have lead to an onslaught of memes. I have begun to entertain the fact that the memes, which are not attached to space or time since they live on the quantum level of the Internet, are beginning to influencing the outcomes of certain scenarios in order to keep propagating and surviving. After all, the word meme comes from the word "gene". It is a gene of the mind. And as all genes, they will do ANYTHING to ensure reproduction and survival.

I think you're right. Meme's is a very interesting subject. I believe intelligence agencies are working full time to understand the effect completely so they can weaponize them, unless they've already done that.

My only role in it is that I try to stay away and not propagate them, because I can't know which side of good and evil they are on, and I'm very sceptic if there even are positive sides to them. Gene's you can destroy physically, but how can one fight against an evil meme?

How can you destroy a thought? With another thought I suppose. Or preventing the thought in the first place with a sort of thought police, like in the movie Inception, where the millionaire was trained against thought thieves and implanters.
