Who gives a shit. United have dominated English football for the past 30 odd years. Liverpool have won three major titles in that time.

we've won more cups in our "banter years" than they have in the last decade, it's pretty pathetic honestly.

I count 3. Oh wait that's just how many goals Leicester have scored so far.

looking at the table, a Liverpool win v. Arsenal at the weekend just catapults us maybe two spots up the table. squeaky bum time!

Even if we beat Bournemouth there's no possible (realistic. If we win 10-0 and it's a draw in the other game we move up 2) result in the Arsenal/Liverpool game that would see us stay in 4th, so we can only move up 1 place.

The answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything is always 42.

It's the Fifa Club World Cup.

Nah, we're at 42 already if you don't count the Club World Cup or Intercontinental Cup (44 if you do). I'd guess they're either not counting the Cup Winners' Cup, or the Super Cup.

I hate all these "this counts, this doesn't", can't we just count every trophy or honour achieved? Much easier.

Like, why is the League Cup, a major honour, in the same category as the Champions League? One is significantly easier to win than the other.

I think it's the supercup. If you count it then you have to count liverpools three super cups which would mean they have more major trophies than us. Although it really shouldn't be counted as a major trophy imho.

League 20-18

FA Cup 12-7

EFL Cup 5-8

Domestic Total 37-33

Champions League 3-5

Big 4 Total 40-38

This really ends the universally recognised majors I think, we can all make cases for the others.

CWC 1-0

Europa League 0-3

World cup 1-0

New total with the debatable majors (these are like 50-50) 42-41

I would not could Super Cup for same reason as Charity Shield, one off game. Same with Intercontinental cup but let's be wild and include all of them that are not charity shield

One off shit (accepted by a minority I'd say on observation, INCLUDING liverpool's own twitter) 2-3

So 44-44. Tis is the Number quoted by Scouse Sports News. But even Liverpool's own twitter SAID 41 so let's stay with that.

It is debatable based on what you consider a major. I would leave it at this. Big 4 that are universally accepted we are ahead. Then including the next 3 "non-major" competitions that are majors in some circles we are 42-41 (In my view if you include the UEFA ones but not the Club World Cup, as I have seen some publications do that is just manipulating the data to suit bias)

The if you consider the UEFA supercup a major (a minority do) have to say the same for Intercontinental cup, so 44-44 tie.But then I'd say the tie-breaker is Community Shield (inc. shared) putting us at 65-60 total.

Take it from an accountant. We win in pretty much any fair comparison unless you go to extremes and then we draw 44 all, even then we have more Community Shields as a tie breaker.

If you wanna go with the big 4 route (my personal opinion for the correct answer) then it was Louis Van Gaal that got the one that put us ahead. I find this debate interesting and would love to hear feedback as to why I went into WAAAAY too much detail and why I am a giant nerd (and fucking proud of it).

In summary to 41 or 42. 42.
