I didnt want this to go public, I saw it as another discreditation of socialism. But seen as it has already come out and people keep on pmming me about it and my inbox and Facebook messenger are getting fairly full and people insist on sending me vote recounts and dirt on other mods including those who have been elected, some of which is disconcerting but I have yet to verify it and I would like some simbalence of peace and say all I need to say so I can be left in peace for a few days in order to consider what exactly it is I have donated my life to because its quite apparent if we cant run a subreddit election where the fuck are we going? And at this point I think I should make one single official statement from me because I came home from Galway a half hour ago after rescuingaanother horse to 65 messages on my Facebook and reddit. One of which was a full recount done by a user since yesterday. Another was a 3,700 character letter of support.

I would like to issue the following facts in my own defence

1) my position on feminism is without reproach. While I reject clintonesque bourgeoisie feminism I have more feminism stuff and pro minority stuff on my Facebook page than socialist stuff by a country mile several users here can attest to that. In addition I frequently fight for feminism in non feminist spaces here on reddit most notably /r/ireland and I am a user and formerly active contributor to /r/TheBluePill before I diverted my attention towards /r/ireland more due to alt right astroturfing on my home sub. I was actually banned from /r/askwomen for brigading due to rooting out red pillers. In real life I used to work as a volunteer in the womens wing of a drugs and alcohol rehabilitation centre with women from all walks of life but many of which were homeless, before it closed. I campeined to keep our rape crisis network open and I do a lot of work with women from the irish travelling community (ethnic minority here in Ireland) to the point I the vast majority of my female friends are travellers. I also had /r/hottest rape stories shut down (they were taking survivors stories from /r/rape which is a support group for their own pleasure) I also spearheaded the attempts at taking down several other subs but it didn't work. Including /r/anti transgender amongst many others. Several users can attest to that.

2) I was not contacted by the mod team at all. I was not interviewed and just ignored in all steps of the process. The one mod I am good friends with has been absent for a few days and told me that he had been under the strong impression that I would be at least contacted when I spoke to him via Facebook last night and I told him at the time I didn't want to go public because I didn't want to do harm to the subreddit. It seems that ship has sailed. It seems I have far more regard for the sub than the sub has for me. Me not getting modded is one thing, being treated like a bad smell is quite another.

3 there is absolutely nothing that can be proven to question my belief in socialism or my intersectionallity barring a particular word I only found out was a slur in America last year. Which use was entirely limited to my regional sub since I found out it could offend people on international subreddits and was at the time told by a mod that my use of it on /r/ireland was one thing but not to use it here or where it might offend. Since it was brought to my attention that people had a problem with my use of it on my regional sub I offered no resistance to stopping using it and haven't used it since. Now one particular user which was said by me to be a former mod on another account by another user said something about my "refusal to self crit" I am not going to be self critting in public and bowing down before both friends and enemies covering myself in sack cloth and ashes like some kind of cult. I am not going to apologise for being genuine irish working class to a bunch of middle class accedemics while there is breath in my body. I have my pride. I will however apologise to anyone I may have caused offence to besides. And I am a person of my word. I wont use it again, and haven't. But it is also worth noting that the person who brought it up in the first place was a complete unknown who deleted their account after posting and it doesn't strike me as a genuine concern, rather a character assassination. There is no proof to the contrary.

I was not informed that this was any sort of trial period at all until I saw the mod comment claiming it was in the official announcement in response to another user questioning it. I was not even informed of that much I have met nothing but contemptuous silence throughout

Now, to my reasons for running. What I actually wanted to do

My entire reason for running is I wanted to try and unite the reddit left, to form a left transperency and unity pact collectively and try to form a united platform for IRL action. We have the ear, collectively of well over 100,000 people world wide. Thats an army. It is not being used to its potential or anywhere near it. We could be a force for real change and lead by example. What ever comes from this at this point is out of my hands but I only ask that those who have the position strive for the same thing.

I put myself out there and shit was my thanks. Don't let it discourage the rest of you. Fight on for the cause and don't yield. We have nothing to lose and a world to gain.

At this point I would like to issue a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported me and a heartfelt apology to anyone I may have offended and other than those just using it as leverage.
